Re: Coppenhall Goods (Late Crest) 00

Splendid! Pretty much exactly what I would aim for (if miss!) had I such a large space. Excellent use of low relief to give the crowded industrial feel. Thanks for the photos.

Re: Derby Friargate LNER/ BR garage layout

Just when I'm contemplating dipping back in and starting something new I see work of this superb quality and think.....why bother?

Excellent scenics. Underneath the arches is just perfect.

Re: Now For ...."Works End"

"Variety"? A polite word for indecisive, dithering, starting not finishing, butterfly mind, lack of application, short attention span........! I do seem to have tried a few different themes - with only the basic size a constant And I'm still at a max of 60" x 12-18" per board and...

Re: Now For ...."Works End"

Resurrect ....sort of.... Had to check back here to see when I last touched this - 1 March apparently! Been a bit preoccupied elsewhere (visiting daughter and granddaughter in France, waiting on herself's total hip replacement and then recuperation, getting in the cycling miles that keep the COPD so...

Re: Newtonmore - N Gauge in the Highlands, again!

As I said earlier...." Thu Feb 18, 2016 10:41 pm Top marks for taking the destruction as an opportunity, rather than being disheartened (as I'm sure I would have been). Looking forward to the new and better version!" This new one IS very good - impressive shots of big modern traction passi...

Some excellent "views" here - as above, the stream/bridge/fallen tree area is delightful. Thanks for the photos!

Re: Tilley Yard South, Chicago, Winter 1956

No need to be 'umble - nor amazed! It's the bestest minimal layout ever, so there. Love the photos from the Exhibition. Don't forget to tell us when in Continental Modeller - I'll save up!

Bring on the scenic fiddle yard.

Re: Now For ...."Works End"

How kind Memran! Imagination maybe, skill not so much so.....I was quite pleased with the "sculpted" small platform and access module to the front, but laminated too many materials/thicknesses and the whole thing simply warped beyond saving! I shall have to imagine another, less complex, l...

Re: Diesel Shunters in the Time of the Big 4

PS. The 1960 ABC lists some 140 0 6 0 shunters with introduced dates pre-nationalisation. Three classes in series 12xxx and one in 15000-3. These are NOT noted as being due for re-numbering so presumably carried until withdrawal.

This

http://www.lner.info/locos/IC/des1.php

is one link to be found if google image search on "diesel shunters at time of nationalisation" - and there are probably "better" search terms!
