What about LED's with a 'cover' of a 'Quality Street' wrapper, Or old Fairy lights from the local boot sale if you want filament lamps, often £1.00 or less a set if you 'canibalise' the good bulbs. although bit difficult to solder.again a reduced voltage and they will last. Beeman.

Word of advice here re the pressure of the pickups on the coach wheels. If all 8 wheels have pickups on each coach, it should make flicker free, but will act as brakes if not very lightly adjusted and reduce the pull of the loco. Beeman.
