Re: Brrrrrr!

Thanks for all the replies. Sorry bufferstop no garage or outbuildings here. Just an Edwardian terrace with two beds. I insulated most of the roof with cheap polystyrene boards from b and q but I am going upmarket next year and buying kingspan which is what I should have done in the first place. Tro...

Brrrrrr!

Hi all, Anyone got any tips to take the chill off my loft? It is partly insulated but not too nice a place to spend any time in at this time of year. I have packed away in insulated cases all my locos and moved all my delicate electronic stuff downstairs. I would still like to work on my layout thou...

Re: Not a layout - but railway modelling

Lovely work all of you. I know what I am going to be doing this winter when the cold drives me out of the attic. I have to bring all my locos and delicate DCC kit down but the track never seems to suffer or any of the Metcalfe kits I have built so it can't be all that damp. I do have a small depot t...

National Express.

Hi all, I read in Railway news this morning that National Express have bid for, and are likely to be awarded, the contracts to run a couple of passenger franchises in Germany. The mind boggles. Is this the same National Express which handed it's East Coast franchise back early? There was I thinking ...

Wells Road TMD

Hi all, I have removed the photos as for some reason photobucket has uploaded all my photos! Here are a few photos of my modern TMD which I decided to make as a practice ground for my main layout, Arnos Vale which seems to have stalled somewhat due to family commitments and holidays and the weather ...

Re: WR OO Castle Cary Themed BR 1980's-1990's Era

Looks good. Are you making the station have that desolate look? Coming home from London this time last week our conductor announced thst we were about to stop in "Scary Castle" quite apt I thought :) Conductor? Conductor? I suppose you go to the train station too, Foo. Please, please we a...

I used to prefer Model rail but I now prefer British Railway modeller. Real railways ? Traction magazine is always worth a look as is Steam World.

Great photo Steve. I especially like the hopeful lady who has her white washing out drying!

You have some fantastic locos. What gauges are they.

Re: Just what is your worst ebay dud?

A little off subject but I just missed out on a Heljan western http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181123113140?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2648 This is the old Western Enterprise with a sound chip fitted. £100.01! Begs the question would it have been a pile of doo dahs? Private listing ...

Rosebay Willowherb

Hi, I have been trying, without much success to source Rosebay Willowherb for 00 gauge. As it is the major weed growing on our railways I thought it would be easy to source but apparently not. Does anyone know of a supplier or have any ideas of the best way to replicate it?

Regards Steve

Re: Allenik TMD 80's to present day Diesel OO layout

Great layout you have there. Makes my 8 x 2 TMD look a bit meagre. Still from small things...etc. Thanks for the inspiration and the ideas. I thought I had gone overboard with locos until I saw your fantastic collection. I also am in the process, very slowly, of building an oval round the loft with ...

Perfection? An old pair of glasses and a badly lit loft work wonders for my layout.

Re: What is it with some modellers?

What I don't understand is why, on this forum, there must be constant attacks on people on other forums. If you find those forums too 'Elitist' then simply do not go there. Surely slagging them off as fat smelly old men who push children out of their way and are rude at exhibitions is a massive gen...
