Re: point control using capacitor+spdt switch+diodes
I would expect £1.20 would cover 2 diodes and a cap. For whatever reason I can't see the pictures
But expect it's 2x 1N2004 @ 18p each and 1000uF 35v @ 80p.

Re: As yet un-named
Not done much actual railway related building. But I have built a mostly completed Metcalf factory (with some lights, but forgot to shield them, so the walls light up as well.
) and a 5v regulated supply on stripboard with 7805.

Re: Simple DCC Block Occupancy Detector
Hi Kenneth Might be easier to buy one of these;- How boring would that be. :| It's the challenge of building it yourself. 8) I've started acquiring parts to build one (and I'm not even DCC yet), and IF it all goes tits-up, I can fix it. Admittedly both the wife and myself have access to accounts wi...

Like Corus!!!!! To have the smell of animal pens would be pleasant compared to the steel works. Some times it's coke (not to bad), others it's sulphur (strong).

Being an Australian bicentenary I would think it is far from new, I guess 1970 (Cooks landing) or 1988 (First fleet).

Now there's an idea, I think we have some at work, think I'll try the non-adhesive first though.

Traction tyres for life-like
Is it possible to get new traction tyres for life-like, as my test loco has shed 2 and though it still runs, it doesn't pull much more than 2 wagons with out lots of wheel spin. I have tried a websearch, but found nothing.

Re: Metcalfe Kits in N Gauge
I know what you mean, I'm part way through doing the factory (with added internal lighting). I found some parts are to small for gluestick or glue pen and had to use superglue. I now have so many different glues for basicly the same use, sticking paper. They are easier than print your own though. I ...

you will never get an exact match (use the same pot of paint on at least 2 different days, and there will be a slight shade difference.).

Go with the Maplins. 7/0.2 is fine for general use like leds and low draw items.
