Re: Smarts Heath Junction N Gauge

Have you tried cleaning the wheels? I was having similar problems, due to being impatient and running before the glue on the ballast was dry  cleaned the wheels and pick-ups with meths and it now runs fine. :D

Re: Scrap iron?

Wouldn't be surprised if loads ends-up going for scrap without anyone being aware it's gone. We have had manhole covers 'removed' and will end up elsewhere to be scrapped. It may be uneconomic to remove, but an angle grinder during the night and a van to load it into and........

Re: Layout Help

Station will be inaccessible even with clips. By putting power to the station as well, it will also be possible to have 2 locos on the layout and select one to run with via points if no clips are fitted.

Re: LED's burning?

Tungsten bulbs do get hot. With the supplied resistors, you are probably pushing them to the maximum at 12v, and shortening the life. Try getting an old 6v power supply (or even a 3v) and they won't get so hot and smell.

Re: LED's burning?

According to the online catalogue L327 is 6v bulb only. So there is no way they can be LED unless you ordered specially.

Re: LED's burning?

What voltage you running them on? If you push an LED and resistor to hard, the extra has to go somewhere and it gets hot. I built some light once, and had the resistors running so hot the solder would melt.

You mean like this....http://www.ehattons.com/StockDetail.aspx?SID=32938 Is it not possible that that is the image supplied from the catalogue?

Though I do need a loco with tension-lock to pull the wagon I have with it  It looks fit for purpose. :)

Re: Frodingthorpe N gauge

Additional parts are on hold at the moment due to 4 day weeks and 3 week months for the next month or so. :( Started replacing the 2x2 blocks supporting the raised parts with purpose built supports with embankment. These are made from board (that is used by a PCB manufacturer the protect some of our...

Re: Frodingthorpe N gauge

There are still bits being planned. The main loops work and fit, but I still have to get the storage and goods yards to fit (I want my turntable to fit somewhere :? ) It does look a bit like a rave in there :) I need to stick another resistor in, and drop the voltage on the flickering red and possib...
