Editing your signiture
Hi all, Can I ask a question on signitures? I have three layouts I'd like to link but I'm falling foul of the 100 character limit, I currently do this: Bratton Lane - http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=46398 Obviously three times this is over 100 characters. But I n...

Re: Table Top N gauge layout
Hi, There is a clue in the first picture as you can see my supports in place for the higher level on the left. I want to put a road along the back with a low relief high street against the backscene. It will be wider over the double track side with a platform protruding suggesting a subterranean sta...

Re: Now N Begins...
Go on - add the wire to the fence! :D :D I remember how bad that was in OO! Seriously though - I really like the backscene. You've inspired me to use the track I have around me left over from my previous N gauge foray for a small roundy-roundy. It's only 3' x 2' but its surprising what you can fit i...

Re: Now N Begins...
Hi,
Good to see some progress - the goods shed looks nice and neat - good job.
I tend to use scalescenes stuff but the Metcalfe kits are good - I used some on my sold N-gauge layout.
I always used a 'brown' felt tip to colour the exposed corners.
Cheers,
James

Re: Bratton Lane - Inglenook - Picture Update
Thanks, The kadees can be a pain to get to work right but it is worth the effort. Since committing to their use I have read that british outline stuff is more problematical, or inconsistant with NEM height, than others. That does seem to be the case - i've simply plugged in NEM style kadees on some ...

Re: Bratton Lane - Inglenook - Picture Update
Hi, I haven't actually used that 'dirt' mix yet - and I think I only need it in a few places (I haven't shown the worst building/ground gaps yet!!). It Hornby product, a kind of autumn ground cover, which looks like the general crud that resides in corners. I plan to grind it into some gaps I'm not ...

Re: Bratton Lane - Inglenook - Picture Update
Hi All, Thanks for the kind comments. Time for another picture update to bring you all up to speed. I've now added some sheep to the field - now the fence is up to it! http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/tappj/Bratton%20Lane/P1030634_zps4b19e620.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/tappj/...

Re: Bratton Lane - Inglenook - Picture Update
Hi, Thanks for the kind words, to answer some queries..... The mineral wagons are not my work, it is an out of the box Bachmann item. I do plan to further bed in the buildings. I don't like to use grass all the way around as that does not seem right. I have some 'dirt' mix to run along the join. yes...

Re: Bratton Lane - Inglenook - Picture Update
Hi again, Time for update number two. I've added some more grass around the sidings and buffer stop area, painted the buffer stops in sleeper grime and then dry brushed on white and dark rust: http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm76/tappj/Bratton%20Lane/P1030577_zps3fa586cb.jpg http://i293.photobuck...

Re: Braybridge aka Winter Project - 5' x 1' - Picture update
Hi all,
Shameful bump I'm afraid.
I've decided to sell this layout to free up space and generate funds for future efforts.
It is currently all detailed in the classifieds section.
Regards,
James

Re: Now N Begins...
Yes a roundy roundy in O would require a bit more room and investment! I am worried at the cost, but I think if you are careful and more selective it should be too bad - I plan to go to the O gauge Bristol show later this month to suss things out. I haven't given up on OO I just fancy something diff...

Re: Now N Begins...
You've got to start somewhere. I'm thinking of clearing space and adding funds to the wallet - I'm going to sell Braybridge in the near future. It was a hard decision but I need the space and it isn't easy to a) set up at home or b) get to exhibitions in one car. I'm thinking of doubling my scale, n...

Re: Bratton Lane - Inglenook - Picture Update
Happy new year to you all, I've made a good bit of progress over the last month but I've not been very good with updates on here as I've had some problems uploading pictures. I'm going to update you on the progress in steps over the next few days. I added the ratio fencing separating the field from ...
