Re: The Bridge - The Yeoveney and Colnbridge Railway. 1 YEAR OLD

Hi Stuart, sorry long time commenting on your excellent railway but I have been browsing it often. Get the Class 25 mate you wont regret it. Mine arrived last Saturday and has been merrily trundling around Langley Bridge with ease. Its a cracking good model and is a doddle to work on (decoder fittin...

Re: Class 20 stopped running.

If it is buzzing but not moving don't hold on the power as it will surely burn the motor out. It sounds as though all is needed is a good old service. If you are not sure how to do this then take it to a model shop that carry out servicing or find one online that you can send it to.

Re: St.Oval - A scenic Set Track Oval

Hammy, we must not high jack Geoff's thread here but he may not mind me saying this. If you haven't already get yourself a back to back gauge and check the wheels on your stock. I was amazed at just how far "out" they can be out of the box.

Re: DJH K8 Caledonian 439 0-4-4 Kit Build

Aww shame bout that Geoff. If you eventually need to I'm sure a chap of your caliber could fabricate a ledge. I'm thinking something on the lines of offering up the boiler to the plate in correct position, marking around the inside diameter then soldering on a piece of copper wire or such. I am thin...

Re: St.Oval - A scenic Set Track Oval

Hi Geoff, many thanks for the report on the 7F. The tender on my Bachmann K3 also has a mind of its own at times. try this , it sort of worked for me with the K3's tender, I reduced the back to back setting of the centre set of wheels. It really did make a difference for the better. First of all as ...

Re: St.Oval - A scenic Set Track Oval

Geoff, when you get to run it would you give us a report on how the 7F negotiates bends and if it has any trouble with any tighter radius bends you may have? A lovely looking loco indeed but all those wheels!

Re: PVA - does it dry clear??? Mine doesn't?

I have read that some modelers do use pva to create water, however I think most use clear varnish. The best answer I can give you is why not simply try pva on a small test area?

Re: PVA - does it dry clear??? Mine doesn't?

Also consider temperature. In a cold environment PVA will take longer to cure and hence to clear. (I am not inferring that is your problem its just a note from an old carpenter who has used gallons of the stuff)
