Re: Hornby Point Motors

Hi GWMainline
If you are going to use the surface mounted points I found
double sided tape good for fixing as the can be fiddle to
set right and tape gives a bit of adjustment.
Hope this maybe of some help.

Re: oo revival

Hi deanno
Layout looks good with shunting while train is on loop.
The water feature idea gives you options for canal or small dock maybe.
Looking forward to your progress.

Re: loco chip codes

Hi
Relatively new to DCC but could you do a factory reset
then re-programme your decoder to a new number.
I'm sure the more knowledgable may correct me if wrong.

I use the sample pot that you can get mixed at B&Q to
various colour shades of greens greys and black for example.

Re: Rookies need help with getting power around 1st track layout

Hi Dale Welcome to the forum firstly if it DC you will need power use power clips to connect all your track if using one controller. If you are DCC then you will need points clip which makes the track live always. Another option would be to connect wires direct to rails called droppers then connect ...

Re: Few questions regarding ballasting?

Hi bluechang.
I tried PVA on cork strips for under track did'nt like it as felt
the cork soaked up the glue.B&Q have a cork adhesive but
takes time to apply about an hour before you can lay anything
ended up using double sided tape from same place found it okay.

Re: Few questions regarding ballasting?

Just a thought if you used PVA glue could you not spray with hot water and see if it would soften ballast and maybe let you start to ease it up. Regarding cork cutting I have cut mine to width of track so when I start ballasting it should hopefully give me a shoulder then a fine sprinkling between b...

Re: 6x4 Starter layout

Hi james

Looking good just one thought your last picture showing ballasting
not to sound cheeky but the rails look abit dirty which will not help the
running of DCC or it might be my screen.

Re: 6x4 Starter layout

Hi.
Welcome nice layout and plenty to keep young minds busy to start with I did same started with
trackmat but you soon get carried away. Lot of potential to expand as I'm sure you will over the years.
