Re: N, Goodison Wood, updates page 11

A name! no going back now... Im still watching this thread! How are the electrics now, all sorted? They electrics are completed. I did half of the layout with soldered wires to the underside and half with old pre wired fishplates from my last layout. The turnouts are causing me a little grief at the...

Re: N'spirations2 - now available

I did notice that - you should call the publishers and tell them as they have incorrectly printed your advert, meaning its going to cost you money to post them out (and probably having already paid for the listing in the magazine as well) Fortunately it's not not an advert that I've paid for. It's ...

Re: N'spirations2 - now available

Just spotted a little advert about N'spirations in September's edition of Railway Modeller on page 726 - that should get more sales for your magazine, and hopefully more editions as well :)

N, Goodison Wood, updates page 11

Not sure if anyone is reading this, but I have decided on a name for my layout, or station should that be. I have chosen Goodison Wood - I think that name sounds like something a smallish vilalage would have.

Re: Has my Dynamis packed up?

Bit of an update Spoke with Hattons this morning - the first person I spoke to said I didn't have a guarantee on the Dynamis (only a 6 month one she says) and that OI should speak to the manufacturer. Said SOGA comes into effect as the product is faulty - never got a response to that question - reit...

Re: Best way to hard wire 'N' Class 91

 another dynamiserable then?? swap the black and red, but you will need to change CV29 to get the loco to travel the way you expect, unless at this time you also swap the grey and orange. I'l swap the CV over (had to switch it over to get the correct direction of travel before the Dynamis ...

Re: Has my Dynamis packed up?

http://www.bachmann.co.uk/pdfs/dynamis-user-guide.pdf I have that already and the fault finding section is rather thin to say the least - it doesn't give me any more suggestions to try and fix the problem I have at the moment. I sent an email to Hattons earlier and will follow up with a phone call ...

Re: Has my Dynamis packed up?

Have you tried it with any other locos? yeah, I tried it with one of my cl150's which I know definitely works (got plug in decoder installed) and that doesn't move, lights don't work - nothing! I've just hunted my multi meter out and plugged it back in - the rails seem to be getting some juice but ...

Re: New Start in N - Update, page 11

Now fully equipped with a new temperature controlled soldering iron and multi tool, I have just completed the installation of my first hard wired decoder! :D It went ok, but there have been a few things which I need to change on my next installation. These are 1 - check the positioning of the decode...

Has my Dynamis packed up?

I have just finished fitting a decoder into one of my loco's and went to test it out, however upon switching the Dynamis kit on, I am only getting one LED lit on the base unit - no flickering second LED - and the LED I have lit is very dim. The controller itself is working fine, although after notic...

Re: Best way to hard wire 'N' Class 91

i would expect a new motor to be available as a spare part, but probably not cheap. Well, I've done the soldering and have tested the loco - all working perfectly fine. the new soldering iron meant it only needed a few seconds to get it to the required temperature. The only problem I have now is th...

Re: Best way to hard wire 'N' Class 91

50 watt iron will be plenty, it isn't really about the temperature ( i was a bit misleading ) as they all get to about the same, it is about having a big tip so the heat in it doesn't get conducted away by the work piece and lower the tip temp so you have to hold it there for longer to make the joi...

Re: Best way to hard wire 'N' Class 91

I decided to strip the unit down for easy access and also to run the two wires through the split in the chassis. From what I have spotted upon taking a look at the motor is could I not solder the decoder wire to the side of the metal clip rather than on top of the metal tag (above the spring) hopefu...

Re: Farish cancel planned new models

i to want a tornado, its ment to be by dapol, its on most of the model railway sites, but i talked to dapol last week and they said its a long way off, and may not even come out. said only if lots of people want it. Hmmm, I'd say that it's hardly been cancelled by Dapol, or anyone, as AFAIA it's no...
