Re: help me decide what to get!

I was going to say that if you are really stuck, you couldn't do worse than give the 153 a try. However as you have stated its probably a bit pricey. If I was in your shoes however, with that sort of a problem (quite a nice one actually!), and the top end of the budget, I would go for the 150-it sti...

Re: Bolsover Castle N Gauge Layout.

Thanks for the comments! Great layout mate, all that is missing is some weathering of your shiny rolling stock to finish it off! That dogfish especially looks far too clean lol I have a kit bult shark ballast van - its great! I also have the GEM/Fleetline snowplough, another great bit of kit! Keep u...

Re: Bolsover Castle N Gauge Layout.

Evening all.....suppose thats about 2 of you then....  Not much to report, Platform 1 is pretty much knocked up, just the building to go: http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd289/tucker_ccf/Bolsover/DSCN4981.jpg And the track gang have been out in the yard. Re: My next N gauge layout!

I like it, it's a good start. :)

If I may make a suggestion, the short platform looks a little strange-perhaps if you used a bridge as the scenic break at that end and pretended the platform continued you could/would get away with it??

Re: 2010 - great year for N gauge?

Am I the only person in the world happy with my DCC friendly Dapol 66? Everybody says its a dog but I have never (touchwood) had a problem with it! Have you compared it to the original DC version? My early Dapol Class 66 locos will easily pull a prototype coal train; 15 HTA, 15 HHA, or 30 PCA The l...

Re: 2010 - great year for N gauge?

However, the revised Dapol DCC chassis on the Class 66 is very poor The reduced weight means this chassis does not cope with long / heavy trains and inclines I bought one but it has now gone back Am I the only person in the world happy with my DCC friendly Dapol 66? Everybody says its a dog but I h...

Re: Bolsover Castle N Gauge Layout.

I thought I'd show this weekends progress before the working week kicks in; basically involves me constructing and test fitting the new Platofrm 1 for the station. http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd289/tucker_ccf/Bolsover/DSCN4957.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd289/tucker_ccf/Bolsover/D...

Re: New Start, New Location - N Gauge

Although I haven't said anything to date Bluechang, I have been watching this from the start, and I will continue to watch in interest, and I hope this one is more successful than your last attempt in the spare room. Its got everything going for it to be such a cracking little layout! :)

Re: Bolsover Castle N Gauge Layout.

Thanks for the comments, its always a bit of a worry when I publish pictures of my work for the first time. Could you tell me who makes those station canopies you have please? Yeah, they are the Ratio Apex Platform Canopies, Code 208. I have a third one waiting to be built for my new platform. Mat.

Bolsover Castle N Gauge Layout.

I thought it was time to share my layout with others, seeing as I like to pass comment on others.... 'First attempt' is probably...stretching it a bit. Well its the first one to get this far in 7 years! I don't intend this to be an exhaustive record of my construction of it, as I just don't have the...

Re: Just for fun and price comparison of modern image stock

I (think) I see what he is getting at. Somebody, somewhere has whinged that it is more expensive to model modern trains than, say, those of 20 years ago. He is trying to prove that it is not necessarily the case, it can be cheaper to go modern. I'm still not getting the fun aspect of it though!
