Re: Ballast Quay - a run down London dock railway
I would be really interested to see an overall view of the layout (including the unfinished bit).
It really is captivating, and the track plan intrigues me as much as the dereliction! I think it is fantastic.

Re: Chinley, Modern Image N Gauge
Ooops. Haven't updated this in six months. Been busy couple of weeks see below. Over the bank holiday weekend I have been finishing the Civil Engineering of around the layout so I can begin with the scatter etc at a later date. This involved finishing the road bridge over the throat of the s...

Re: Hornby 2 BIL
who can blame Hornby from protecting its bottom line, they do have a businees to run after all! (Something that seems to be forgotten on forums.) I'm not sure how that relates to the channel that they release through though. Unless you're referring to protecting margin and reducing undercutting. Co...

Re: Hornby 2 BIL
Its funny but 'in the other place' there is a lot excitement about 'collusion' between MZ and Hornby other 2BIL supply. Unfortunately it is a sign of the times and who can blame Hornby from protecting its bottom line, they do have a businees to run after all! (Something that seems to be forgotten on...

Looks like that is coming along nicely, with well built and tidy baseboards.

Re: Dapol HST - Any good?
I have the bachy decoder in, seems to fit absolutely fine. but then that doesn't mean they all will, even a MM difference can throw it all akimbo. I think the point one dapol Dave made in 'the other place' was that they refuse to guarantee it will fit, regardless of whether modellers make it fit, a...

Re: Dapol HST - Any good?
Without wishing to patronise, but is your track clean? I always know when I have forgotten to do mine because my locos all start running erratically. I am also fairly certain that Bachmanns decoder will not fit (I don't think Dapol like giving them the business  )-certainly one to add to the e...

Re: HS2 phase two
As I said before, make it £9bn on HS2 and £33bn on the existing network and you'll have mine, and I believe, many others', support. I know this is going into the murky world of Govt 'accounting' etc, but.... Isn't that £9 billion to be spent over a five year 'Control Period'? Just like they spent £...

Re: Chinley, Modern Image N Gauge
Update time! Well a few days has almost turned into a week! A few changes have been made to the layout, I was really having trouble with the outer of the three lines through the station, as it came back round to join the Outer oval. With a slight change in alignment, that has now been fixed! ...

Re: Dapol HST - Any good?
I should point out at this junction that Dapol items are always limited runs (some of their spares and sundries excepted), and that if you really want it in the livery you bought it in, it can be a case of getting it fixed (at their cost) or looking elsewhere for one (after refund).

Re: why the big deal about keeping boxes ??
I do however keep the boxes for when i on-sell the stock, at least for the stock I have which is RTR and not kit built! For some reason a box always seems to help sell it, though for a "used" (i.e. run) loco I can't see why it should! It depends. I know with stock bought online secondhand...
