Latest photos of Maidenfield... Well, two slightly off-topic photos to begin with: http://clients.voltuum.com/maidenfield-railways/progress_30_1.jpg And, as if sharing my lunch with three robins (only one pictured - one was on my knee! and the other on the other arm of the seat!) didn't make my day:...

Could always compromise and go for 3? Would make operations a bit more interesting too...
Good luck with things - and the house move! - and look forward to seeing progress!

3) Like the livery too. :D Hey thanks for the links and tips :-) On the livery front: I didn't want to differ too much from the railfreight livery so that I can always haul the van in a rake and have it looking quite neat... might also cobble together some sort of transitional railfreight -> maiden...

After the recent visit of the NRM van I've decided to try my hand and painting and rebranding a wagon of my own: http://clients.voltuum.com/maidenfield-railways/maidenfield_railtestvan_vda.jpg If anyone can help me with the following, please let me know: * Is the crafty computer paper transfer sheet...

Re: Review- Hornby Class 50
Good review, and good loco by the sound of it! But, on the subject of the fan: An interesting feature is the roof ran which sits behind a see through mesh and turns as the loco moves. This is a feature it shares with the same manufacturer's Class 31. Does the fan move as a result of some mechanism j...

The NRM van arrived today - and in preparation did a bit more work on the railway. Stuck the legs on my station roof, and did some more work on the levelling of the undulating tmd/yard and mainline. Anyway, just to echo the stuff in the NRM van thread: http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o181/maidenf...

Having had no real activity for a while on here, thought I'd go to town and make a video to commemorate the NRM van's visit to Maidenfield: http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o181/maidenfieldrailways/th_nrmvotvideowmv.jpg And, here are some of the photos: http://clients.voltuum.com/maidenfield-railw...

Change of plan. I've decided it's too much work for me... I think I shall simply add a motor to the dummy power car -- and replace the tractiont yred wheels with normal wheels. Together with some extra weight in each power car, this should provide sufficient power... It should also work out a lot ch...

It was on ebay, guy said it ran really well and it was almost new, and for that price who am I to complain. If its duff, I'll return it. That's cool. My layouts going to be mainly DMUs and Long HSTs with a few Freights. Part of me thinks I should have gone down the N gauge route -- suddenly you can...

Very nice looking fleet, hope to have something like that myself in N, just bought a very nice ScotRail 158! Thanks. Sounds good your end too - is that in the 'new' ScotRail colours - i.e. blue/purple colour? I have to say I quite like the livery of the forthcoming Hornby Caledonian sleeper... Are ...
