Re: The stuff under tracks

Ballast is also different colours, in real life you get a mixture of colours and sizes. Also, where the track crosses a road via a level crossing, i'm sure they used concrete or tarmack.

Re: I think that a lot of stuff is overpriced...

Hornby is vastly (about 20%) overpriced (because of some deal they made a few years ago) making new stock ridiculously expensive So thats why the hornby products have gone up in price!!! Re: hornby curved points

According to the Hornby track geometry plan their curved points fit into 2nd & 3rd radius. http://static.hornby.com/files/track-geometry-2008-425.pdf well both of mine fit into them. Maybe there was a flaw in a the curved points a few years ago? (where the track is made) Andrew

ODRAILS wrote:The old curved points are shorter and the inner radius appear equivalent to radius 1 and the new are equivalent to radius 2.

I've had my hornby curved points for 6 years and they are 2nd radius inside a it fits easily onto 2nd radius track and it won't fit on 1st radius track!

Re: New Hornby Project

That new track plan is quite a good one. My track plan used to be like that and it was quite fun to play with. for the wiring, put the power clips on the curves on the left.

well it looks like the design of the pro box doesn't work. Take it back to where you got it and ask for a full refund

Re: Help needed, 16 volt ac power supply for points

thinking about it, isn't the voltage used for dcc 15 vollts and you need a minimum of 16 volts for point motors

Re: my room layout

if the lamps were a bit more yelowy and if they were dimmed a bit, it would make it look realistic.
