Well I might be barking up the wrong tree completely, but I look forward to hearing how you get on. No pun intended of course! :D

Re: Adjusting sound CV - Digitrax dsc50

Despite the fact that the LokSound v4 allows for individual adjustment of sound functions, it may be that your supplier hasn't made provision for this in their sound project. Have you checked with them that it is possible to adjust individual sound function volume levels? The fact that you have been...

Re: Thinking off using DCC

Hi Tim I purchased the Digitrax Super Chief after lots of research, I went with Digitrax because I too didn't want to find myself having to upgrade either. I wanted a system that could be easily hooked up to a computer (Digitrax PR3 required) to use with JMRI and had the capability of block detectio...

Hi Phil, I agree it wasn't the best recording in the clip; have a look at this one, it's much better

Re: Which Controller

Here's a link to a Digitrax soundchip being used with a British outline sound project.

There are now quite a lot of British sound projects available free via the Yahoo Digitrax sound usergroup. HTH

Re: High Frequency. No DCC.

Personally, I haven't yet come across a factory fitted 'DCC on board' locomotive that won't run on DC analogue too. Programming on a DCC controller won't affect DC anologue running either. The only way to turn off DC analogue running is to turn it off in CV29. Interestingly, Hornby set their sound l...

Re: 21 Pin to 8 Pin - Drawbacks?

I too have fitted 8 pin Digitrax sound chips into 21 pin locos (using an adapter) with no adverse issues

Re: Traintronics TT300

Mmmmmm, that's a difficult one, you're proposing fitting state of the art point motors and using an entry level 'train set' DCC controller that's not NMRA compliant and doesn't read back CV's. I have TT300 point motors, but not a Select to try with them. The only thing you can do is buy a TT300 and ...

Re: Undemanded change of direction

IIRC, the 'front end' of a diesel locomotive is usually the end with the fans on the roof.

Re: NCE DCC SYSTEM.

<snip>NCE's after sales support is second to none, in my experience. They sent me upgrade chips for all three Power Cabs at no cost, although I believe the next upgrade will cost a small amount, which I am happy to pay. Upgrades are usually easy to install yourself, unlike Digitrax and Lenz, where ...

A real 20 in the room? I'd hate that, much too loud for me! And I don't have the space either! :P

Re: SWD and Howes Class 20 functions

I would imagine that the SWD functions are the same as the Bachman original, as I believe SWD did the sound project for the loco. Although I think that SWD have recently recorded a new version, so I'm not sure if that has aditional functions, I do hope it's better than the OE version! I had my Class...
