Re: Mark 4 NEM couplings

Hornby produce a narrow version of the tension lock coupler tha is a direct fit in many of their coaches. Part number R8099:

Dropping parts on the floor is the reason why I don't have a rug on my railway room floor! Laminate flooring makes life a lot easier! :D

Re: ROMFORD Screw Couplings

I agree, they are perhaps a little larger than they should be, but I still think they look rather good on the front buffer beams on some locos. How about these photos on my layout? They are both Romford screw couplings: http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u138/rosenblad_photos/Romford_zps7a8ddc68.jpg

Tom's Workbench

I thought it was about time I presented my workbench. As I am disabled, I would like to start with a few items that make life so much easier for me, hoping that they might make life easier for everyone else as well! Here is a photo of my current workbench: http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u138/ros...

Hornby Mk1 Coaches again

Today I recieved my sixth Hornby Mk1 coach of the new Railroad series. I think they are really lovely, but all 6 had the Buckeye coupler correctly mounted on one end and upside down on the other end! That seems to have become "standard" on these coaches! It doesn't matter to me, as I pull ...

I think the term you are looking for is a pin pusher, alex3410. I've been using the same tool myself for many years, and could not live without it!

Re: GERMAN ZEPLIN LOCOMOTIVE in OO or HO ??

End2end, this was made by Märklin under the name Hamo 8377 in HO 2-rail. This was a long time ago, before Märklin purchased Trix. It was a funny thing with bogies for better running on sharp curves, whereas the prototype was a 4-wheeler, despite its length! I hope you manage to trace one down!

Hornby used to make them as item R6253, or vee tankers. Perhaps they could be found second hand?

Re: Uncoupling problem sorted

Bigmet, the small Dapol tension lock couplers work perfectly together with the Bachmann ones. The problem with the Hornby couplers is the very long hook. I bin those every time in Bachmann's favour!

Re: e-hattons service

Hattons always get top marks from me. I put and order in from here in Oz and had an email a couple of hours later to say it was getting packed. Sad to say, the postal service doesn't get the same pat on the back... pat on the head with a bit of 4x2 would be better. I've waited up to seven weeks for...
