Re: New Railway Modellers Shop

Found the New Modellers Shop had some backscenes that I could make use of. Placed an order and
received it in just over a week to Aus. Never used this shop before and I was pleased with the service.

Re: Strange Problem with a Bogie Tank Wagon - Help Needed

Hi Hornchurch, I had the same issue but my method was a touch brutal. You know how you shake a can of spray paint with the marbles in it to mix the paint - well I gave the tank a couple of hard shakes but mainly in one direction and the weight popped one end off. No damage, just dry glue to clean up...

Re: class T9 chassis rot

For the rear motor mount I laminated a couple of pieces of plasticard and trimmed to shape.
Then drilled appropriate sized holes for rear motor bearing and wires and for the screw to mount it to the chassis.
Just have to be careful to get the holes in the right places.

Get onto our favourite red haired politician and tell her that model railway items are not halal certified so shouldn't have GST added.

Re: Changes to buying habits downunder

Hi Tim,

Looks like we shop at the same places, I just received the same email.

Must admit I haven't heard anything further about the application of GST. Maybe the government has more pressing issues.

Re: NEM again

A couple of things to try - Remove the NEM pockets and turn them over - on some types the pocket is offset vertically and some have a moulding on one side that stops them from sitting flush. Also, is the kadee drooping a bit. I usually find I have to put a bit of packing under the kadee as I insert ...

Re: Hornby R2802XS "Valiant"

I had to return my model of Valiant several years ago as the chassis had a huge bow in it. If the snowploughs were fitted they scraped on the track. I asked the store I bought it from if they could obtain a replacement chassis and I would be happy to replace it myself, but no go, so back it went. Qu...

When they were in vogue I went to most of the drive-ins around Brissie. Some were better than others.
