Re: Simple branch line

I am done with OO until I get space to run my 37`s with lots of freight :D

So that means waiting for a kid to move out!

Re: Simple branch line

Thanks for the advice Sarah. Milo is asleep in his 'bedroom' at the moment so I will try and get a woof out of him later for you ;)

As for summer, maybe I should of said 'British Summer'. We would not be British if we did no moan about the weather after all!

Re: Simple branch line

Fear not, the 'Simple branch line' lives ;) I am still not sure where to put the last signal, maybe put it on the main line so I can have trains running both ways? So what have I been doing? Well, my garden railway has kept me busy during the summer so I have only just started back on my OO layout w...

Re: Faulty SPROG II?

Hi Brian,

I don't believe it is a computer fault as I did all the obvious things.

Andrew got back to me in the evening and said he will repair for free so brilliant service from him!

I hope the club is going well.

Cheers,

Tom

Faulty SPROG II?

I have not used my unit for a while, however, when I plug in the USB cable the light just flashes erratically for a few seconds and then turns off? The power light is fine. Has anyone had this problem with their unit? I have contacted SPROG to see if they will let me post it to them for possible rep...

Re: Simple branch line

I have one more point motor to use up and an old Hornby signal so I wanted to know what you all thought of its current placement as I am not sure if I can justify two signals on my small layout: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e339/pochicken/OO%20trains/SANY1165.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albu...

Re: Simple branch line

Thanks John.

I like the ungated road crossing - might have to nick that idea ;)

Goods shed arrived today and another signal so I will get some pics of these later.

Cheers,

Tom

Re: Simple branch line

The Wills kit I was building is a more typical GWR engine shed where the tank is located on top of the roof as to stop the water freezing up in the winter (on the prototype that is) :) http://www.gaugemaster.com/_upload/imgs/lrg/34336/CK14.jpg I will have a play with its placement so maybe on the ma...

Re: Simple branch line

Some new bits arrived today: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e339/pochicken/OO%20trains/SANY1140.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e339/pochicken/OO%20trains/SANY1136.jpg Not sure if this is the correct placement of the water tower, however, it made sense to me that a loco would come out of th...

Re: Simple branch line

Kit buildings do look the business which is why I went for them in the first place, however, as I do kit bashing and scratch building for my garden railway with OO I just want to play trains ;) Thanks for the post John. Having the layout in its new location is working out brilliantly as I can work/p...

Re: Simple branch line

Take heart Geoff, even small layouts require mass wiring and there are more motors/switches to come! http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e339/pochicken/OO%20trains/SANY1124.jpg I have great admiration for those that undertake large layouts as it something I do not have the patience or time to do. New ...

Re: Simple branch line

I got fed up with the loft due to the lack of natural light and ducking constantly for roof beams so my beautiful wife to be agreed that I could put the layout it in our back room as one of the kids has taken the sofa chair that use to be in its place: http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e339/pochicke...

Re: Simple branch line

Thanks Geoff, your opinion is always valued given the layouts you have built :) The idea behind my small layout what that I had a lot of Hornby track/bits left over from my attempts to get the kids interested in model railways so I am simply using these bits up and buying only what is required (the ...

Re: Simple branch line

Hi John, I do get tempted to expland the layout, however, time is always against me so I am starting small first to at least get something finished. I modelled 16mm outside in my garden so OO is a winter project for me. Thanks for the idea of using MDF. I have some bits in the garage so I might have...
