Re: Help for ho
When you say HO are you looking for US, Continental or British? British HO is rare but US and Continental is widely available. Gaugemaster stock most of the manufacturers have a look at kato, Athearn, Atlas, Roco, Piko, Trix, walthers, Fleischmann. Also A&H Models in Brackley. For an OO garden r...

Kernow have Railroad A4 Golden Shuttle in LNER garter blue for 49.99, you could a couple of pullmans @ 24.99 ( with lights) and still come in under your budget.

Re: Trying to Run DC loco on Prodigy Advance 2??
If it's just for testing a loco on DC before chipping, MJB has it right. Get a cheap DC controller. If you're after a loco that comes in a set, it often works out cheaper to but the set then you'll have the loco, DC controller and a test loop of track!

Digitrax Zephyr can also run a DC loco on address 0, but as Flashbang says, it's not recommended. Why not get the loco fitted
with a decoder?

Re: Hornby TTS
Just got my paws on a Class 40 and according to the instructions, it won't produce sound on DC. I think it's more than acceptable at £69 for a sound fitted loco. C. :) Thats a pity. I might just as well source myself a RR 40 & put the green body on that. If not, there are some with sound remove...

Re: e-hattons service
Another bit of praise for hattons. Having ordered a loco at roughly 13:30 on Thursday, it turned up bright and early...Friday! Couldn't believe it, but certainly can't knock it that's for sure. Top marks. Incidentally, I've informed the Mrs that Hattons are good for delivery times, should she ventu...

Re: Dapol LMS coach kits
You don't even need glue for the roof vents. They're quite a tight fit. Though for peace of mind by all means use a dab. I replaced the wheels with the metal Hornby ones. For a budget track filler these coaches are good value.

I'll need to have a rummage for (and through!) my boxes. I didn't fit headcodes to any of my 3 (dutch, green & fragonset) so I should still have them. What are you looking for? (By way of a feeble excuse, I've just spent the best part of 12 hours trekking up and down from Wolves to Southend and ...

Re: Topic for conversation and discussion.
For me DCC offers simplicity. My layout is 12 x 4. I use insulfrog points fitted with Hornby electro clips and 2 wires from DCC base unit ( Digitrax Zephyr) to track and that's it. No bus, no droppers, no switched sections. It all works fine. The downside is the extra 15-20 quid for decoders but the...
