Re: Better glue for Model Power houses
I've built several Model Power kits using Revell Contacta Professional glue. As far as I'm aware they are "normal" plastic, although I suppose the formula may be slightly different in different countries.

Re: Hamdden Railway Co. 00 7'x6'
Back on the bench the “L” beams are screwed and glued. Wow, those could carry a real train! What do you guys call the room with the railway in? Well mine's in the "home-office". If it didn't have an office in it I'd probably call it "the train room", although that is still a bit...

Re: LED resistors
On a side note, you might find standard brightness red or yellow LEDs easier on your eyes (and wallet) especially on a panel that you are going to look at frequently. White and blue light is a strain to focus on.

Re: LED resistors
ok so according to the datasheet , 30mA is the absolute maximum forward current. I would aim for 20mA As you can see from the first graph on page 3, when the forward current is 20mA the forward voltage drop is 3.2V so 8.8V/0.020A = 440R. power = 0.176W so a 1/4W resistor will suffice. but this assum...

Re: LED resistors
Most LEDs run at 20mA, not 30. Do you have a link to the LEDs you are buying?

Re: Model Railway Design Program.
Never seen that (Trax) program before! I.ve not downloaded it yet You don't download it, it runs completely online in a browser. As a test I tried to do a couple of plans in it but it just freezes up on me after while. However I can't tell if it's the site or the rubbish wi-fi on my laptop. XTrackC...

What size can you get away with?

If you can find LEDs that will do the job, yeah why not?
But we expect a full photo-journal of the project

Old TOSLINK audio cables are a cheap source of plastic optical fibre, if you have any lying around.

Re: Class 08
If the left hand side coupling is at 12 o’clock is the right hand side at 6 o’clock or are they both at 12 o’clock. Bigmet already answered this The wheelsets must all be reliably secured in the same quartering, "Quartering" mean that the wheels must be offset by a quarter, so if the left...

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum. One - not being IT literate I don't understand how to find my way about - are there any simple instructions anywhere or advice? Click on everything and see where it takes you. Two - have splashed out and bought Stevenson's Rocket on e-bay (which looks fantastic) but d...
