Bachmann have since revised their intermodal drawbars and they are in fact too short for what I need them for, so I am after the older, square type drawbars, NOT the new round ones.
Only need 4. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Matt

Re: Class 128 DPU and coaches
Thanks for the response guys.
It would have been for 4x parcels coaches, but by the sound of it, it wouldn't have happened in the real world.
I'll Keep my DPU up for sale.

Class 128 DPU and coaches
Hi,
Would a Class 128 DPU regularly haul a rake of coaches, specifically and postal train?
Thanks
Matt

Re: Carstairs 2019 build - 1980s themed DCC layout in OO
Thanks Jim. I've not got that much scope for modelling scenery outside of the main track plan and station of Carstairs, but I'm sure I can add something in time!
No doubt I will be asking for lots of advice and photos' as I go along the way!

Carstairs 2019 build - 1980s themed DCC layout in OO
Well after months of planning and spending time in the 'track/layout design' and 'laying planning' part of the forum, Carstairs has now made it into the 'Under Construction' phase. Built on 9mm MDF mounted to a 3x1 CLS timber frame, it sits at 170cm tall and measures just under 11ft long and 7ft wid...

Re: Wiring for Block detection
Doesn't need to be exact...I think I've allowed enough detection sections to split the blocks around the crossovers so shouldn't be an issue. I think if I included the entrance to the point within a block, then I can make most of it work for what I want it to. Will look into adding the resistors whe...

Re: Wiring for Block detection
I'm using JMRI and only using the detection in it's simplest form. I just want it to mimic on a control panel when a section has something in it (the loco) I'm not fussed about the coaches/stock. No automation. The most I will probably get JMRI to do is to stop any point movements that would allow a...

Re: Wiring for Block detection
Thanks for the advice all. I was thinking about adding droppers to each point, just to maximise their connectivity and improve running and think I'll probably need to if I'm going to use block detection. I've attached my layout plan. I think the location of the blocks is quite self explanatory, but ...

Re: Wiring for Block detection
Surely I will need to supply the point with power and give each point it's own dropper if I'm to isolate the point from the track that requires the detection? I'm using DigiRails occupancy detection - so current based detection. For a simple length of track leading into a point and having two siding...

Re: Wiring for Block detection
So if I'm 'not' to include the points in my detection, would I need to wire these to a separate power bus?
I'm only using the detection to show when a block is occupied by a train and to maybe then prevent points being set 'illegally'

Wiring for Block detection
Do I include the points in the blocks?
If I do, am I advised to add droppers to the points as well, or just rely on the rail joiners?

Laying track from track plan
I've printed my track plan and laid it onto my boards.
How is now best to physically lay the track and then be able to remove the paper?

Block detection and occupancy design/implementation
I've finally finalised my new track layout which is based on Carstairs junction. I'm after some help and advice as to how to design and distribute the block detection/occupancy side of things. I'm only intending on using it for some basic signalling purposes and to feedback into JMRI to show when a ...

I'm starting to now work out the block detection sections for Carstairs.
Can anyone assist as to how best to design this please?
Thanks
