Re: oo or n ?

Thanks both I understand. Interesting tip about the radius conversion. Still undecided but I'm swaying towards n because I'm going to model real places. Google earth is the way forward. I'm on a nexus 7 and if I zoom in to a station there's always a train nearby so I set the zoom level so the screen...

Re: oo or n ?

Hi Thanks all for the replies. They are all valid It seams oo is cheaper and not as fussy with more choice. I also liked the idea of n in that space being able to model leaving city and running through country side but it would also be harder to see 20 foot away. To replicate an n gauge 6 x 3 loop i...

Its an old style loft with no trusses in the way and I can comfortably fit 17 x 8 Thinking of running 3 foot boards round the edge with sl...

Re: 5' x 3' N Gauge Layout Help

Hi Looks interesting. You will need to start the inclines and decent on a curve for definite and its not easy. It was very difficult on my layout but I did go mad with track lol Or best bet is to get a length of wood with some tract and have a play. Don't forget even if a loco shoots up an incline w...

Re: N Gradients

dont forget its not just the gradient, i found the hard bit was getting onto the gradient and off again.
i managed it but had to very carefully and precisely raise bends and dont recommend it.

Re: New N Layout - London area depot/station

hi brian,

been a long time bud.
looks ok, but if a train is going anti clockwise there is no where to pull in, a suggestion would be to move the bottom point left a bit and fit another point next to it allowing trains to move to the inside pos around a station?

cheers
