I have several of these for controlling my points and have doubled up on the outputs when using it to switch 2 points for a cross over which works fine, now i have done some ballasting and weathering of the track/point work i am having stalling issues so i am going to modify the points causing the pr...

I got some of these wagons a while ago and just got to putting them on the layout and they are a very good wagon but will they stay coupled together, not a chance  So i thought i would swap out the rapidos and put the knuckle couplings on and they are just as bad,get six inch down the track and...

Re: CMX TRACK CLEANER - Anybody got any opinions (Good or Ba
I use an N gauge Sharge track cleaner and it works a treat once you get used to setting the flow correctly, had it for approx 2 years now and paid £50 for it,I use either IPA or Goo gone and they both give excellent results.

I am after a control bus cable to join my NCE command station to a DB5 smart booster and i can't find one anywhere or anyone who does them.
Anyone know who sells them or is there an alternative available.
Thanks

Re: SMD84 power
Thanks guys much appreciated. I did some digging last night at work and to me reading the manual it can be configured to get commands via the cab bus(unless iv'e read it wrong)but it won't work that way so iv'e been told on the yahoo groups NCE forum. Flash,my equipment wire is 16/0.2mm for point mo...

Re: SMD84 power
No need to apologize mate. It is set up so it will throw 2 points on each output(1 point at either end of a storage yard)which the decoder is capable of doing(so the manual says). I might go back and adjust the 3 points that don't quite throw and realign them and see if that helps. I reckon if it ha...

Re: SMD84 power
Hi I am unfamiliar with the unit you mention but I would run it from a separate power supply. It is drawing a lot of current from the bus to fire two motors at once. A regulated power supply would be much better than track power Thanks Dan It gets it's commands and power through the track bus and i...

Re: SMD84 power
Bufferstop It has a separate connection for other devices ie leds on a panel and a connection for push buttons/toggle switches on a panel to throw the points. It also has two RJ12 connections for the cab bus to receive commands and to carry the cab bus onto the next decoder etc but when i plug that ...

I have installed one of these to control my 16 points in the storage yard and it works fine but there just isn't enough power to throw a couple of the seep point motors, they try to throw but don't just quite make it,it is powered from the track bus and is getting on average 12.8 volts, the instructio...

point decoders
I'm after a points decoder to control 8 sets of points in a fiddle yard through and NCE powercab and an SB5 smart booster. Had a search of the internet and these two seem to be price wise about right but do/will they work with my set up through JMRI ? http://www.coastaldcc.co.uk/products/cml/dac-20-...
