Re: Modelmaster Jackson delays

I hate to say it, because Modelmaster do many decals that I want However ..... I ordered about £18 worth way back 2018 ? and never got them. I chased a couple of times as some were out of print and waiting for another run. Never came. As far as I know the owner is rather a one man band and I think i...

Re: advice required

I may be wrong, but perhaps it's simply wanting something too big ? That involves endless work before you can sit and just enjoy. I see Bigmet drops the scenery, which can be a devourer of time. Dropped for a sensible reason, once having found what it is in the hobby that HE likes. So I think unders...

Re: Build railway dioramas

Hi khaldrogo, I put mine in Personal layouts under construction with a descriptive heading. Then I can just add new projects as I begin one. Probably overdue for me to at the very least think up some scene. https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=28436 I love small dior...

Re: HS II - The Kadee Experiments

As a builder first and foremost what can you do with a normal finished layout. Watch trains going around ? At least on a shunting layout you need to think and plan ahead. I'm always running a few puzzles on this, great fun and keeps what's remaining of my grey cells working ! This photo is because I...

Re: Dcc loco issues

Everything that's NMRA compatible will work fine with a good DCC system - True, or False. Very False !! It seems nobody can really explain. The better the decoder the less problems you'll have. I'd suggest keeping to either Zimo, or Lenz, however I have very little, in fact can't remembers any probl...

Re: '0' gauge- Another for the club.

Hi Daniel, In short, no, I've never used anything other than enamel paints. This is probably because of my age, in as much that when I started there were few other options. Acrylic paint didn't exist, weathering powders had yet to be produced, even with art (GCE 'O' level 1958) I don't recall pastel...

Re: '0' gauge- Another for the club.

Just over a Month, starting again. This time I've worked on one of the end boards. A large gravel parking, come yard space where the Jag sits. I'm intending permanently fixing the car as although I love the presence of 7 mm scale there is no way I'll do more in this scale. With lots of wet grass. I ...

Re: Dad-1 - Workbench - West Bay Wagon Works

I will admit to being a railway wagon building addict, but there are some old Gems around that are worth bringing up to date. For a very long time I've been restricted by the availability of my chosen couplers, now with a recent order being received I can do some of the renovations that have been on...

Re: Dad-1 - Workbench - West Bay Wagon Works

Back at the end of page 81 I had details of a Cambrian kit C60 build. Due to the shortage of Bachmann couplers it's been parked away. Well today a packet with 40 couplings arrived from Rails of Sheffield. 3 hours later this testing was being done. I now have to search my loft as I'd pinched coupling...

Re: Dad-1 - Workbench - West Bay Wagon Works

Hi John, My luck is on the UP !! Goods not in the bottom container of a delayed vessel. Been in our Club House (Village Hall) cellar today. They want our racking moved while some electrical works are carried out. Now to try & drag a trio of guys to get it moved by 10th April. When first mentione...

Re: Dad-1 - Workbench - West Bay Wagon Works

The Lock-Down is coming to an end Sunshine with just a little warmth ( excluding Easter weekend) Even better - Bachmann narrow tension-lock couplings back in stock !!!!! I'm not greedy, having only ordered 6 packets. 60 couplers, 2 to a wagon so that's only 30 Wagons and at least 10 have had their c...

Used several times, as already noted very good personal service.
In fact the lights used on Green Frog Brewery - see Layouts under
construction were purchased there.

Re: Heljan '00' 05 problem solved after nearly 3 years

Quite right Bigmet, My mate should have shot it straight back to the trader, who had also added the decoder. When moving house though, model trains are a very insignificant item As to delays with getting the replacement motor, change of servicing agents as Covid restrictions started was something of...

Re: Heljan '00' 05 Lighting

Bless Heljan, Confusing if you want to remove the original decoder socket. I wasn't going to risk a Lenz decoder while I played around !! An interesting choice of colours !! Yellow is the + feed for both lights Blue is the - feed to the white light Green is the - feed to the Red light So the cross m...
