Re: DP2, the genesis of class 50
Heljan have released an image of a pre-production version. http://www.heljan.dk/filarkiv/billeder/1282011132511.jpg why not use the chassis design they will have had to put together for DP2 to give us the twin Napier glory? unfortunatly as good looking as it was the 23rd Deltic wasn't twin Napier po...

Hi Jack,
Glad you got the paint sorted out - they look really good
I quite fancy a go at one of these... maybe in a decade or so!

What a splendid contribution to the discussion, D605Eagle! Lesser mortals might be expected to say why they disagree...

Re: Church from Scalescenes.
Valid point but five buildings not counting the railway ones is hardly a square mile. What's five buildings got to do with it? I didn't notice it mentioned before :? Of course five buildings isn't usually a square mile, but I thought your point was that every element of a town or village should be ...

Re: Metrocamel's Layout - renovation work imminent
Hi Ade, Sorry, I meant to say;- IMO that the 6mm was the spacing gap between each sleeper would look better :) Ah I thought you were talking about the gap, Dave. I just asked because the 8mm Liam said would seem more like a reasonable centre to centre measurement for 00 (I'm not sure what Peco is?)...

Re: Church from Scalescenes.
Some one said he doesn't have room for a church. My answer is get a smaller one. The reason I say this is no matter where you go in the world every town or village has a house of god. It is like railway buildings. It is a building that must be represented on a model railway. I'm guessing that not e...

Re: Metrocamel's Layout - renovation work imminent
I can't see why Peco didn't take the opportunity of producing correctly spaced and width sleepers for code 75. Correct in what scale? It's 00 - the gauge is always gonna be to 3.5mm scale... you can't change it (well, if you do then you're going EM or P4 and everything that entails). The Locos etc....

Re: Bachmann Blue Pullman
And before you say 'well, Bachmann have done just that to OT/Heljan', I would point you towards 'another forum' whos moderators were privvy to evidence that Bachmann were working on this project before the OT announcement and have been pushed into an early announcement by Hornby piddling about with...

Re: Bachmann Blue Pullman
I'd think there will be a market for both the Hornby and Bachmann versions (and it would seem they both agree). £300 for the Bachmann six-car set doesn't seem a lot to me (I mean comparatively, not like I can afford one right now!) How much cash were people getting out for Deltic? But there do...

If Hornby were to revamp the old Triang one then it'd be just like buses - you wait forever then three come at once!

Re: Yellow Warning Panels
Yeah... well, it was a Deltic, but I'm turning it into DP2 The loco was based on a 'Deltic' body shell, but the guts were an uprated version of the class 40 power unit, which went on to power the class 50s.
