Re: missing coupling on Bachmann tank engine
As a temporary measure I had a lightbulb moment .As it will only be pulling in a forward motion I took the coupling from the front and put it on the back. It couples to wagons and pulls ok. Saved a few bob there !!!

Re: missing coupling on Bachmann tank engine
As long as it fits on a Bachmann loco that is what I need plus the coupling to go with it. I will have a look in my bits to see what's hiding there

missing coupling on Bachmann tank engine
I have acquired a Bachmann 8750 pannier tank loco number 32-200b, which has no rear coupling. It is not just the bit that clips in but also the part with the triangular section that goes into the loco body for the coupling to clip into. What do I need to obtain so it can couple to wagons.
Thanks
Thanks

Got my eyes on the new Hornby Black 5 with lights and a flickering firebox. Have got the funds allocated by the in house accountant to make it my Christmas present

Re: Best way to sell a collection quickly
Try an auction house that specialise in model railways or a shop that advertises it buys complete collections. Don't expect a large amount of cash !!

Re: Analogue controllers
I use 1 D for my 2 mainlines, and a Combi for the freight yard. The Hornby ones that came with the Flying Scotsman and Eurostar train sets used to trip out after a couple of circuits, Especially when I ran the Golden Arrow train pack with carriage lighting.

Re: opening up a diesel
I put the big light on and applied a bit of pressure and bingo the motor snapped into place. Connected the drive shafts, put the seats into position and clipped the body back on. Now it runs ok with no rattles so it is now out of the repair shed and back to operational duties, and the replacement pu...

Re: opening up a diesel
In daylight I realised that I tried to mount the upside down  After inverting it I can see that on one side the clips that should hold the motor securely in situ are missing, hence the aforesaid rattle. I will clean the wheels and put it back together. Thanks for the advice and diagram. I may ...

Re: opening up a diesel
So I now know what happens when an amateur tries. I did what was suggested and had 3 clips away from the chassis each side. I then pulled the top from the bottom and it exploded. I now have a rolling chassis with motor, front and rear seating, body, and two drive shafts. The motor is only held rough...
