Reare: OO scale platform width?
I built my platforms from Wills Finecast modules. These are about 4 inches wide as supplied, but I cut mine down to 3 inches (75mm) apart from where the buildings were to be located. These areas were left full width or increased in width using the off cut pieces. Product codes are SS 61/62.

I've had to reload the video without the age restriction https://youtu.be/eD_McYlP4Q0 This was due to a US child protection law which caused a bit of a stink among YouTube creators at the time. Hope this works out for you this time E2E.

Re: Minimum Radius
I have one, and it runs perfectly well on my 1st radius loop. In fact, very few of my collection, Hornby or Bachmann, will not run on 1st radius, steam or diesel.A Bachmann Std 3 tank will not go round 1st radius curves - it is pretty close to its limit on 2nd radii.

Re: Which Hornby controller
I've had my HM2000 since I got into model railways over 15 years ago. It has never given me any trouble and I find the speed control is OK.So now its whether to stick with two R8250's or one HM2000 which certainly looks neater but how does it perform ?

Re: Austin K8 Three Way van
Have you checked the Hattons web site? They usually have one photo with the model next to a ruler to give an indication of the item's size. I don't have an Austin K8 to hand, but I do have the Oxford Diecast 00 Commer Q25 which measures 60mm x 25mm if that helps.

Re: And The Next Photo Will Have
Chops, it's just a GWR diesel railcar, originally built by AEC in the 1930's if I remember correctly. The Hornby model appeared in their Railroad range as R3669, but I don't see it listed on their site at the moment.

Re: And The Next Photo Will Have
If you're referring to the GWR railcar that I posted, that particular example is from Lima but it's also done by Hornby now. That DMU is an amazing thing. May I ask what is the make of that?
