Re: Custom N bridge

Thanks Zunnan, Lots of interesting leads, which I will consider in a few moment. My layout, if I ever get around to it, will be an Indian prototype, based on the Konkan railway, i.e. lots of bridges, mountain passes, lush tropical vegetation etc. Only problem is, I am squeezing it into a 2.5' x 4'. ...

Re: Timmo's N Gauge Layout - New Track and Station on P.3

This is really really amazing. Can you post some pics of the whole layout in its current state?

Cheers.

Custom N bridge

Amigos, Im still at the design stage and want to lower the baseboard under a significant part of my track (rather than raise the track). Either way, this requires bridges. I am using a flexitrack design and not standard PECO trackwork. This requires custom bridge shapes. I have searched for sometime...

Re: Kings Cross - Eventually...

Tell me about it. That has been my station for 5 years, since I used to live opposite (well almost), with a view of St Pancras from my kitchen (blissful student days). The new station design looks much better, though I am still a little sceptical.

Re: Track Plan for comments 2" x 4" ish (N Gauge)

It is a nice plan with potential for some sidings inside the oval. However, at only 2' wide that makes those curves very tight. If you could go out to 2' 6" (household door width) then the curves can be eased a little. My N Gauge layout is 4' 6" * 2' 6" and the curves are tight. Hi J...

Re: Track Plan for comments 2" x 4" ish (N Gauge)

Okay, with the modifications, the layout would look something like this:

I lose some of the operational control at the bottom, 4-5, but it does look neater and realistic.

Re: Track Plan for comments 2" x 4" ish (N Gauge)

If you want a continuous run then this sort of crossover both looks more realistic and has better operating potential http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/5661/code55crossing.jpg If also takes up less room allowing for more platform space :) Hey thanks for the image. Im just trying to work it out, whet...

Re: Track Plan for comments 2" x 4" ish (N Gauge)

Also, to be honest, I do not quite know or remember the logic behind the section of track between numbers 4 and 5, however thought it may provide some more operation interest. Just to clarify a few things: The diamond If the points are in the correct sequence a single train should be able to continu...

Re: Track Plan for comments 2" x 4" ish (N Gauge)

Can I ask what the point of the crossing arrangement is at the bottom left on the station exit? And what is the point of the diamond crossing bit as well,if thats not what you meant S-Jay :D If the points are in the correct sequence then the diamond crossing part should allow for a train to run con...

Re: Track Plan for comments 2" x 4" ish (N Gauge)

Cheers Terrier. Nice idea there. I have a similar plan in mind, so glad you have provided some ratification for these ideas not being crap. Have a slightly updated plan, here: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3244/3474452724_b06238da94_o.png Yes, you can fit in a lot with n gauge, but to do so skilful...

Re: Track Plan for comments 2" x 4" ish (N Gauge)

Can I just add, that I have not finished this. I have added it so I can get ideas for the top two tracks. I am going to place another siding somewhere on the bottom so that I can place a second train there. The idea is that I can have two trains running simultaneously, with two controllers. If one g...
