O Gauge Micro Layout and PDF's svailable

Hello all, Recently I converted my O Gauge micro layout to a rural terminus, based on running practises on the Bishops Castle Railway and on Canterbury Road Station on the East Kent Railway. Here's a little video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TtpHJpefRQ The loco is made from card including the cha...

Re: 55" x 18" light railway micro layout - 'Maltby' in Lincs

Hello Dave,

Nice of you to suggest selling it.
I just like making stuff though.
All anyone would need to do it themselves would be a camera or phone and any version of Photoshop from Ps4 (1994) onwards.

Re: 55" x 18" light railway micro layout - 'Maltby' in Lincs

Hello Jim, Your right about the Pilling Pig I Googled it and there's an immaculate Hudswell Clark outside a holiday camp place with the name on it. Keeping the memory alive. Hello Dave Thanks for the nice comment, it's going to be some time before I get around to making my Y8 loco and a new wagon. I...

Re: 55" x 18" light railway micro layout - 'Maltby' in Lincs

Hello all,

I want to have a little bit of countryside behind the water tower and the coaling stage, I took this pic to see if it would work.

Image

I'm going to have to alter the perspective and make the sky area bigger to make it fit in.

Water tank and coaling stage, nearly finished

Hello all, This is a pic of my water tank before I finally glue it up http://i68.tinypic.com/biqqmr.jpg Just got to put some cotton around the delivery hose The tank is covered in Tesco's paper with a rusty galvanised steel photo from textures.com printed onto it and the rivet heads are blobs of Sec...

Re: A new start in Finescale OO: NSR Stone junction station

Hello FS123, Fair play to you for tackling this station, I used to pass it from time to time and thought how lovely it looked. I like the way your making the rolling stock and locos yourself, it's very nice to find someoone else who does the same. I agree with your comment about the difficulty in as...

Re: A Small Project...

Hello Dave, This is lovely and I can see the scope for lots of shunting operations here, especially with that short reverse siding. One thing I would do and I hope you don't mind a suggestion is to have either a three road fiddle yard with a loco release traverser at the far end and/or the same thin...

Re: Luketon 1930's Network southeast in 6x4

Hello TC,

That's a good video I like the slow running, that loco moves very well indeed. I like the 1930'd era shows my age I guess.

It's odd though that the 'flash' is off it would be nice to be able to embed the video in a post.

I just noticed that you are in Fleetwood

I made the G&KE van for a previous layout it was a delightful little railway I like the way they converted old coal wagons to those vans.

Re: 55" x 18" light railway micro layout - 'Maltby' in Lincs

Hello Jim, Thank you for your comments it's very good of you but I deserve non of it, I feel a complete fraud amongst so many modellers who make huge layouts while I fiddle and faff around with little tiny ones. My main motive for learning how to do things is lack of money, a wagon for £10 a loco fo...

Hello E2E, Thanks for your nice comment I'm grateful to you, my main reason for making stuff is that I am like a Yorkshire man i.e. a Scot with the generosity removed. Hello all, Here's a pic of my incomplete back scene, this one will go in front of the controller http://i64.tinypic.com/dcpnvq.jpg T...

Re: 55" x 18" light railway micro layout - 'Maltby' in Lincs

Hello all, Having decided to make a loco shed at one end of the layout I thought I'd better make a coaling stage and a water tank. http://i68.tinypic.com/2w4mafs.jpg I used a photo from from Selsey branch station at Chichester for the basis of the water tank and the coaling stage from measuring a wa...

Re: 55" x 18" light railway micro layout - 'Maltby' in Lincs

Hello EP,

Your right about its use quite a bit of too-ing, fro-ing and shifting stuff about to be able to use it.
I like to be able to sit at a show; do some slow shunting and chat to visitors so it's ideal for me.

Cheers - Jim
