Re: Great Western Merlin HST rolling stock

Farish never produced the buffet for the merlin HSTs - I have done overlays in vinyl as part of the Electra range.

Re: Lucky escape

The Farish Northern Class 158 is an old and rather basic model by today's standards, though it has an excellent (non-DCC) chassis and very good quality printing on the body. It can certainly be tweaked slightly by removing the end couplings and fitting buckeyes or dummies and affixing the skirting t...

Re: 3 carriage Chiltern railways model

Not normally heard many issues with the Farish Turbostar. It may be worth investing in a back-to-back gauge to check the wheels are the correct distance apart.

Re: GF Class 101 Express Parcels question...

Don't think it was a frequent occurrence but they certainly did have a GUV or BG in tow on occasions. The 101s were quite common on the ECML in the late 80s working from Kings Cross, Cambridge, Leeds and York. Some 105s were also similarly used. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3410/5714104854_260883cf...

Re: GF Class 101 Express Parcels question...

Farish found it cheaper to produce this model with two motors than to tool up an unpowered DMBS specially for this one.

Re: N gauge 2012 wish list.

A Class 55 to the same standard as the Deltic Prototype is top of my wish lists. We are reaching the point where the main diesel classes are pretty well covered, so it's really a case of re-doing what Farish did for us in the 1980s. A new 25, 31 and 33 would all sell very well, particularly with the...

Re: Farish Harrington Coach?

I had heard November for the GF buses but there has been very little in the way of announcements on these. I'm eagerly awaiting the Leyland National and Atlantean for my Hertfordshire-inspired layout.

Re: royal mail rail depto

Electra Railway Graphics did produce a non-powered kit for the Royal Mail Class 325 EMU in N a few years ago but this is out of production pending a redesign with CAD designed bodies. We can supply cast ends and vinyl side for the 325 if you wish to convert Mk3 coaches or Class 150 sprinter cars. We...

Re: Somone tell me about these old wagons i found?

Railmail of Watford was the biggest "box-shifter" retailer of the 70s and early 80s, with large adverts in all the magazines. You got a free wagon with every locomotive - Graham Farish supplied these in both N and OO Gauge.

I had a few but they ended up repainted into bauxite!

Re: Dismantling a Grafar 37

You should just be able to prise the sides apart gently and the chassis should drop out. If it's one of the really early split-box 37s, you may want to carefully remove the buffers first.

Re: progress of Canonbury 'n'

That really oozes the slightly shabby NLL atmosphere of the BR Blue era (and I mean that nicely :D ). Now you just need to get some assorted undesirables and scrotes to hand around menacingly by the platform entrances and you'll be there! Don't think Bachmann Scenecraft has done an "Assorted Sc...

Re: Dcc chassis for my nelson 404?

I would say the 150 chassis ticks all the boxes - it's got the correct wheelbase, dcc ready (with sound provision) and has more than enough grunt for 4 coaches.
