Re: Location?

Decided to try and get more forensic and look at clues: 1) There is a large 'country' house beyond the first line of trees - it has a distintive round turret/tower and seems to have a little bit of mock-tudor decoration on one of the end elevations. 2) The railway line is not a main line - so is not...

Thanks All..

It is bolted together..

Re: USATC 2253 On the Dartmouth steam railway

Re: Location?

I can absolutely confirm - this is not Birkenhead - I was born there, and live back on the Wirral now. (see my shedplate !!)

I know this doesn't help - but it is an elimination !

Hornby Dublo 5005 - 2-road Engine Shed

sorry if this is in the wrong area - not much direct connection between H/D and modern Hornby !. I am from the late Triang era - so no real direct experience of H/D. I have inherited - via a friend of a friend of friend - which happens quite at lot - but his is one of the rare pieces that seems to b...

Re: Location?

I know the area pretty well - industry failed to overcome the natural beauty of the area, except around Johnstown, Trefor and Brymbo.

Barton was a biggish player as a local colliery owner and merchant.

There seems to be a least 4 separate plumes of smoke too, maybe more.

Re: Hornby Smokebox Door Number Plates

Depends on the model - I know you can get replacement LNER A3 smokebox doors without the moulded plates - to mimic LNER days.

Re: Modelmaster Jackson delays

Ah Yes - but I'm old enough to remember when the standard postage time was "28 Days" and we were happy with that... I'm always surprised when I order something and it arrives the next day, or day after, but never expect it - which saves me the angst... I will continue to order from MMJE - ...

Please don't forget the handsome Pettigrew 0-6-0 tender engines for the Furness - which were around until the 50's - on my wishlist - but unfortunately not on the RTR horizon..
