Re: Very Interesting - wrt Cooper-Craft

On the Kirk coach kits, it says this on the latest news link : "Also please visit https://www.phoenix-paints.co.uk/news/kirk-lner-coaches for news of the Kirk and Mailcoach coach kits." No expert - the nearest I go to LNER coaching stock - is a SO to Llandudno from West Yorkshire hauled by...

Re: Bachmann Pannier 64xx 31-653 A / B Differences ?

These should be identical.

From 6430 on - there was a change in the cab profile - with the rear of the cab to bunker being a right-angle rather than a curve.

Re: Black 5

Hornby it is - if a Black Five is required. Go for the superdetailed version from R3385 upwards. Saying that the Railroad version is much cheaper and has the same mechanism - and passes the 4 foot rule (looks good from a distance), but there are accuracy compromises not present on the aforementioned...

Re: Fordhampton fuel point

Looks a little more like a domestic/industrial oil depot, than a fuelling-point, to my eye. An MPD would often have the tanks at a slightly higher elevation. Also the tanks would often be separated by a small distance- which allows fuelling from both sides - usually under an awning. I think it is an...

Pic of unfitted d1375 underframe here: http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/pic2/wagons/sr12058.html The BR livery details applied to the d1375 closely follow those applied to the very similar ex-GWR dia. 0/32 and LMS dia. 1892 of which photo references are more prevalent.: https://peco-uk.com...

I believe both Cambridge Custom Transfers and Modelmaster supply suitable waterslide decals - the CCT ones providing lots of separate numbers - for a longer rake.

Re: Location?

Decided to try and get more forensic and look at clues: 1) There is a large 'country' house beyond the first line of trees - it has a distintive round turret/tower and seems to have a little bit of mock-tudor decoration on one of the end elevations. 2) The railway line is not a main line - so is not...

Lots came ashore at Birkenhead Docks - where some minor adjustments were made, before release to traffic.

Re: Location?

I can absolutely confirm - this is not Birkenhead - I was born there, and live back on the Wirral now. (see my shedplate !!)

I know this doesn't help - but it is an elimination !

Hornby Dublo 5005 - 2-road Engine Shed

sorry if this is in the wrong area - not much direct connection between H/D and modern Hornby !. I am from the late Triang era - so no real direct experience of H/D. I have inherited - via a friend of a friend of friend - which happens quite at lot - but his is one of the rare pieces that seems to b...
