Re: Bachmann class 37

I've a few bachmann 37s but this thing sounds like it's going to take off. It sounds like when you were a kid and you put paper on the spokes of your bike wheels then peddled faster and faster the noise got louder. I'll have a look under the body and see. I did try this last night but everything is ...

Bachmann class 37

Hi guys I have a bachmann class 37 europhoneix and it has a loud screeching noise when running in both directions. I've tried lubricants but sadly to no avail. Can anyone suggest anything . Ive took the body off and had a look and everything looks fine. It runs fine but the noise is incredible. It h...

Virgin voyager dcc

Hi guys I have switched from DC to DCC and now have 2 virgin voyager units which I can't run as they are not chipped to DCC ( thanks bachmann ). One is in Virgin livery and the other is in cross country livery. Can anyone recommend someone who would chip or hard wire these as I really want them runn...

Bit of a dilemma with DCC

Hi. I have a medium sized layout in my loft which was originally DC. I ripped it up and started again as it didn't continue around my loft so I put a new layer of boards over the existing ones and made a continuous double line around my loft all DC which was fine. Then I found DCC. I bought a elite ...

Re: DCC so frustrating at times

I've done a bit of research on the older baccy 66s and quite a few people are saying they do run jerky on DCC. My policy is I buy the cheaper DCC decoders although I do have a few locos on guagemaster decoders which run fine and so do the so called cheaper decoders. Like I said I have ordered a more...

Re: DCC so frustrating at times

Hi Roger thanks for the reply. I looked at the Bromsgrove website for the older bachmann class 66s which I have and it was in diagrams pointing to what to cut. It was definitely the capacitors I cut which were yellow topped located under the PCB board. I'm gutted it's now not working. Ok the decoder...

DCC so frustrating at times

Hi guys I've recently switched over to DCC and it's not as easy as I first thought. All my locos rang absolutely fine just on DC with no hassle with decoders and such like. My gripe is I have a few bachmann class 66s which ran fine DC but on DCC just run jerky or at full speed. I read online that ol...

Turning sound down on a decoder

Hi I have a bachmann class 108 dmu with a Mr soundguy sound decoder in it which is fab but a little loud. How do I go about finding the right CV to change the volume down ? Can anyone offer any assistance on this if someone out there has the same decoder or similar. Thank you Alan

Re: DCC points

I do have insulated fishplates but mate I'm hopeless at electrics. My loft layout was DC then DCC so I don't use or could even wire up bus wires. To be fair the layout runs fine it's just these points that shorten out. What if I used the IRJ but with no power feeds would this still work ?

Re: DCC points

Ok thanks. I ask this as I have a older large left hand express peco point on my layout and when I run a train over the points at slow speed ( it's on a approach to a station ) there's a small crackling noise and my train stutters until all my coaches are off the point. It's the metal wheels of my c...

DCC points

Hi I had a layout which was DC and it's now DCC. All my points are insulated points with the hornby power clips to make sure all tracks are live. My question is should I use insulate fishplates on the V of the points or should these be metal ( which I currently use ) . Any feedback would be greatly ...
