Re: Bachmann points

Theses are set track points and are identical to the Hornby points.
If you are going to use set track points why not use the Peco ST240 and ST241 which in my opinion are far better, made in the UK and on the same website are only £9 each.

Re: Hornby TTS Sound Decoders help required to locate sound manuals

Hornby have provided the last manuals I needed and the Decoder definition has now been completed.

The undated file has now been included in the latest test version of JMRI 4.13.4 and should be included in the next production release due towards the end of December

Hornby TTS Sound Decoders help required to locate sound manuals

I have been slowly updating the Hornby TTS decoder definitions for JMRI over the past month or so and have successfully found most of the TTS manuals on the web. I am having trouble locating copies of the following: R3509TTS DB Schenker, Class 08, 0-6-0, 08623 with TTS Sound R3504TTS BR 4-6-2 'City ...

Re: Keeping the lights on

Yes I think you are right - I have two other locos with lights: one remembers (Digitrax) the other doesn't (Uhlenbrock). As I workaround, I found this option in the NCE manual: FUNCTION REFRESH (default is 0=OFF) Function Refresh will keep the lights and sounds working (F0 through F8) on locomotive...

Re: The usual question ... on DCC controllers but ...

Beejack, surely a double pole double throw switch (costs less than a quid) does the same job? Wire the leads from the power cab socket to the centre poles of the DPDT switch. wire the poles from one side to the isolated programme track, wire the poles from the other side to the layout bus. The powe...

Re: The usual question ... on DCC controllers but ...

I would also like to suggest the Powercab. I took the decision to buy one 18 months ago and have never regretted it. Can I suggest getting the auto sw at the same time? cost just under £20 and allows you to program the locos on a programming track. This prevents any other locos on the layout from be...

Re: Railroad TTS Class 47

I have a few factory decoder fitted Hornby locomotives and analogue performance is iffy at best. Is the TTS able to be run on an analogue circuit and if so what sound is available? Here's an extract from the manual for the Class 47 TTS: The decoder does not support sound under DC operation. Sounds ...

Re: Railroad TTS Class 47

So finished running in so thought I would take a closer look at what's inside. Here are a few photos. 8 pin socket and chip sat over trailing bogie http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn272/bjack8264/DSC_0021_zpsbqix3k4i.jpg Speaker with same issue as the class 40 and class 37 in having the hole wher...

Railroad TTS Class 47

Just picked up on of these from my local shop Got all three TTS diesels and I think the sound from this one is the best so far. Unlike the 37 and 40 on which the horn seems to sound almost identical, the horn on the 47 sounds almost spot on. The long horn sounds are very good. The eight pin socket a...

Re: Lenz set 90 or hornby elink

Worth adding that you are lucky you lost the bid on the E-link as Rail master cannot be transferred to another owner if it has already be activated.
You would have ended up buying a new copy of Railmaster and therefore would not have been the bargain you expected.

beejacks projects

I can't really call this a workshop thread as I have nothing permanent that I could call one! Anyway as my layout Brecks Road has ground to a halt with progress being backwards rather than forwards, I thought I would share a could of recent projects I have been doing. Last year I was lucky enough to...

DC KITS

After years of wanting to try my hand at building a DC kits DMU, I finally have all the tools needed to both build and paint a kit which would not look out of place against the rtr stock ( hopefully) and after days of indecision decided to purchase a class 114 kit complete with motor etc. I placed a...
