Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
The Llanwyke station platforms now have a bit more life in them with the addition of a few Preiser figures: http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/Clifton009_2007/Board%202/B2StationPeople1_zpse324824c.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/Clifton009_2007/Board%202/B2StationPeople2_zps093a716...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
I love the carriages: The mat paint works well, and I see you've picked out door handles and hinges. Interesting that the second class compartments only have windows to one side - any idea why that was? Out of curiosity what couplers are you using there? Great to see an update btw :) Thanks Souther...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
First update for ages! Found time to do a few bits. I’ve finally finished the tunnel area on board 1. Not bad considering it was started in 2007! It was just one of those jobs I kept putting off. It’s finished in a similar manner to the slate mine area on board 2 using actual slate chippings, smashe...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
I've just caught up with your last couple of updates Jason. Excellent modelling as always and distinctively recognisable as your 'style'. I like the little corner unit: It's almost a diorama in it's own right :) Thanks. I was thinking it was like a diorama as I was building it! Its looking really g...

Thanks. Here's the latest progress on the B3&4 joiner: http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/Clifton009_2007/Board%203/B34Joiner4.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/Clifton009_2007/Board%203/B34Joiner3.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/Clifton009_2007/Board%203/B34Joiner2.jpg

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
The wiring is completed and it works :d I have used the Board 3/4 joiner as the main hub for the wiring. This did mean running a lot of wire as it's some way from the main Model D controller. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/Clifton009_2007/Board%203/B3JoinerWiring.jpg http://i268.photobucket...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
Well I'm back on with this now after a Winter interlude for no specific reason! I guess I just got out of the habbit. Went to Narrow Gauge North in Leeds a few weeks ago to get some inspiration. I've made a Board 3/4 joining section: http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj29/Clifton009_2007/Board%203/...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
Not much progress over the last few weeks. I’ve given the main line a good clean and dusted Boards 1 & 2. The only addition to Board 4 has been a few trees. The trees are the same construction method as previous ones. The trunks are real twigs with lichen glued on, then pasted with PVA and cover...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
Nice work on Russell and can't wait to meet you in person next year at NG North Cliff :D will you let me look at your layout and will you look at my layout? Thanks sir haydn. I won't be showing the layout as it's not built for transportation! (Also it won't fit in my car!). If I did transport it ab...

Re: Worlsey Works Ffestiniog coach 14.
Hi sir haydn, The plastic kits from PD are fine. I've built loads of them since starting the layout 4 years ago, but I have to say I wouldn't tackle any brass kits. I'm fine with plastic & white metal. It's worth bearing in mind that you can easily make adjustments / modifications to plastic kit...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
I’ve decided to make more effort with the loco kits I build! Although the construction of the Russell kit was fine, I wasn’t happy with the paint job & detailing. Initially I was just going to add name & works plates, but after seeing some other models I decided to add a few more detail bits...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
I might go to NG North, when is next years and it's too bad your layout isn't able to have a double ended fairlie on it. Hi sir haydn, NGN 2012 is Saturday 10th March. Just one day next year for some reason? The corners are a bit too tight for long locos. A Double Fairlie would also be a bit big fo...

Re: Clifton 009 - Llanwyke
Good to see you're still doing narrow gauge Cliffton. Is it okay if I add you to my buddy list, I hope to see you at next year's Expo NG because I want to show you my work with my layout which will be a mix of Ffestiniog, Corris, Talyllyn, and Welsh Highland :D. Hi Sir Haydn, Yes no problem. I don'...
