Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

It's a shame the forum moves so much slower now than it did a few years ago. I see your castle opened over a week ago and no comments yet! My apologies I have been busy finishing off the Millennium Falcon I was part way through building so I could start on Lemmington docks and hence have not been ki...

Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

All your efforts are sure paying off. Now you get to watch trains running over the bridge... in the distance. That must surely add another layer to your running sessions.

Re: East Cheltwell

Its definitely coming along. That last photo, is the detail I liked about your layouts... totally immerses you into that feeling of being in the countryside. You have a definite knack for knowing where to put grass around dirt/ rocks etc for a convincing look.

Re: How to Spot the Loch Ness Monster

On the Nessie topic we took the kids to the Sea Monsters exibit here in Brisbane last month, and they had a life size Plesiosaur skeleton. I got to tell the kids, some what confused, they had just seen the Loch Ness monster.

Re: East Cheltwell

Great to see you back on board. This, and your previous layout, were immense favourites of mine and while I couldn't manage your build quality were huge inspirations when we built our Lemmington roundy round. It's pretty normal to lose a bit of interest and come back around to different projects. So...

Re: Millsend Layout - OO Gauge Sixties Midland

Hi Jim,
It is great to see some photo's. It is definitely a lesson in how well you can realistically build a model railway into a given space. The loco yard a prime example.

So what do you do with your Dublo museum you have constructed? Sit in there and relax?

Ahhh Mice. Those damn things get in anywhere. The bait blocks are usually your best bet, however they seem to go for them more in places a bit more tucked away. I hope you get the blighters!

This is looking like a whole lot of fun Glencairn.
I really like that shot of the view towards Clarence dock. I take it you're managing plenty of running time!

Lovely detail mate. Very clean, perfectly executed. The paint work on that shelter is fantastic. Im looking foward to seeing you motorise that loco body also, I can never quite get my head around organising a chassis and wheel sets then a motor and gearbox to suit. Let us know your steps! Re: Lemington docks.... end to end

Hi Josh, your plans for a modular layout sound great - like you say it allows small manageable sections to be built in isolation, but then joined up together when you feel like it :D. Will you motorize the crane? I've just started playing with an arduino and servos which could achieve up/down and s...

It may take time but the effort is worth it!
I find it difficult picking out so many bricks and get lost personally. Very talented Dublo!

Re: Lemington docks.... end to end

Thanks for the comments guys! Dublo you are right, it has been a long time coming. Im looking foward to a positive year as 2020 sucked quite honestly. I am moving through this alongside a couple of other pet projects, one being a Millennium Falcon build I have had sitting in a box for years and the ...
