Re: Rowenwood

Last time I bought cork I think was from a craft supplier on ebay, very large sheets so I could trim where I wanted, would also give you the option to cover the entire board if wanted. They were quite cheap also. Edit.. If you do a search for 3mm cork sheet on ebay large rolls come up and theyre che...

Re: Rowenwood

Should you use cork underlay, there is always disagreement over that so I don't think you'll get a definitive answer. Personally I lay thin self adhesive cork on my layouts, but it doesn't really deaden the sound, I think you would have to use quite thick stuff to do that. Wasn't the notion put fow...

Lovely work on the station building. Is it card? I enjoyed your video as well. Some of those camera shots positioned at ground level really capture the feeling of what you have created.

Looks like a solid plan! The dirtyness of the end of the steam era always models so well. I look foward to your progress!

I like how its coming along! Ballast size I ended up using predominantly Woodland scenics fine. I had mixed in a bag of I think was a peco ballast as well but was the same size so I think thats a good size to buy or gauge off of.

Re: 8x4 roundy round- Lemmington - update page 12

May I ask how the water effect was completed? :) Regards Samuel19 Of course you can! This is a good video if you have never seen it, I used a similar method. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2TwpB7sVMn8 Now I painted over a flat surface as I didn't need waves. I used the same colour blending method as...

Love your work Dublo. Im starting to look at linka myself. I quite like the brick shapes obtained in the casting process. I also think you captured the look of crumbling walls perfectly.

Re: St. Blazey's - My first layout - Stage 3 Building

Looking great there End2end. After seeing your previous work with linka Im looking foward to watching this creation unfold. Please enlighten me. I know very little of the Linka system except for you cast pieces in plaster and have the ability to jigsaw them together. What types of moulds were availa...

Re: Llwyndrissi Halt.

Im in agreement surprise is best! The narrow gauge and tropical setting makes me think of a tourist attraction we had here in Queensland in the 80s where there was a narrow gauge railway running through a pineapple plantation.

Re: Llwyndrissi Halt.

Great to see some progress Mountain! Ive been waiting to see some work on your layout. Im in awe of your work creating your own track and point levering system. Do you find the baseboard was lightened significantly with the holes in place? Did I catch that right your going for a tropical theme? Did ...

Re: Thomas Visits Bride Bay

Well worth the bump Dad-1. I spent somd good time reading through this thread. And as for getting people interested in the hobby it shows a multitude of scenic displays which ,as with everything you achieve, are modelled to a brilliant standard. Its a great railway layout.
