Re: Gresley 2-6-2. Help.
The model was introduced by "I think Palitoy" under the name "Mainline" it may well have been produced by the same people who produced it for Bachman. The Gresley 2-6-2T was first released in 1992 in the Bachmann range and was significant in being Bachmanns first UK loco that ha...

Ones to wait and see what they look like - not particularly impressed with the bunker joints they have on the Modelrail 16xx

Re: loco class??
The new engines were fitted 1964-1969 so a number of 31s ran in green and over a third had been re-engined before the first rail blue 31 appeared and even then a large number were re-engined without being repainted - the principal visual change being that the exhaust ports on the roof were rotated n...

Re: Heljan OO Class 25
The thing that made the Heljan 47 look very wide is the fact the Lima (now Hornby 47) is too narrow. Put against one of the correct width the Heljan one is less over wide and I discovered on mine that could be visbly reduced by shaving flash off the sides of the metal chassis block and reducing the ...

Re: Heljan OO Class 25
The lack of the bodywork framing angled across the largest grilles is making me think the forthcoming SLW one is worth waiting for/ the extra £. Its a bit odd given they have included it on the smaller grilles

Re: Are Hattons buying 'pre owned' off EBay to re sell?
I made a low offer on a Bachmann 9F on ebay with the seller pointing to Hattons price for the equivalent; a couple of week later with the item still unsold at the Hattonish price he was asking for it he came back to me with an offer that was exactly that which I had offered. Hattons are certainly no...

Re: What’s the best starter pack to get
The comment about two levels might work with the kebangs plans above if the continuous run link is removed, refererncing the last one, the ST240 and ST241 points connected by a ST221 (respectively R613, R612 and R605 in Hornbyese) towards the bottom right which would then give a fair length to gain ...

Re: Class 08 Spare Parts
Certainly try Bachmann first https://www.bachmann.co.uk/page/service-request, while you may find the part at Peters the price is invariably a lot higher; same goes for Hornby spares and a visit to Lendons http://www.lendonsmodelshop.co.uk/ or AC https://acmodelseastleigh.co.uk/ will probably result ...

MIght be worth waiting; Chris Leigh of Model Rai has commented on RMweb that future versions will have the overly prominent tooling joint on the rear of the bunker improved on,
