Re: Is Bachmann the same brand as Graham Farish N Gauge ?

A lot of 00 Bachmann gets reproduced in N as Graham Farish.

Re: Bachmann 2016 range announcement

Only thing of note personally is a long awaited Class 101 in the white w'blue stripe "refurbished".
Been after one since I saw a real set parked at Cambridge in the 80s (they worked to Hitchin)

Re: Hornby A4 "Kingfisher"

FTR I ended up using a Railroad Mallard as a green Kingfisher 60024 with red-backed nameplates. Also has makers plates & along each side of the boiler are the diamond plates worn by the engine until just before it was scrapped. Im going to use another RR Mallard (once I find one) as the donor fo...

Re: I must stop spending!

Must say that Ive been frugal recently.
Bought a Duchess of Hamilton N gauge from Chief & only considering another A4 body for my TTS Gadwall to replace the existing shell.

I have to thank ANY of you guys who put up with me on here, cos I have a habit of going on tangents, not always being clear or just daft. Never had a prob & mentioning the BlueForum, thanks for all the helpful info from those of you like me who are members on both when it went Tonto the other da...

Re: DRS Class 68

Saw a real one parked up by the siding of Norwich Thorpe last week. Tend to savour it when I see one, as Im very unlikely to own a model. A) It looks to be a long way off being made/released & B) if it does materialise, I have no doubt it will be near £140 or more. Its not something Id be going ...

Re: Hornby Railroad R3086 "Flying Scotsman"

Darned frustrating to find some do & some dont. I found a nicely detailed Scotty, £65 S/H & thought "Ooh, might be tempted" when I was in my local shop the other day. It was perfect for me, lovely extra lining, banjo case dome, single chimney & apart from having a black namepla...

Seen a RR Mallard in garter blue & the decor (numbers/lettering) isn't as nice as that of Falcon.
First alteration I would make would be adding some LNER Fox transfers.

Re: Heljan Class 35 Hymek. Any good?

I picked up one last year Barry. Id even had a big cull of diesels I didn't think were essential but resisted until about Sept time, then thought "Ach, what the hell, why not?" Got D7040 in blue with the white window framework & small yellow panel. It is a pure work of art & will b...

Re: Hornby r3273 9F Franco Crosti boiler

So, anyone posting a picture of one? I didn't cos I have to limit what I pick up now & FrancoCrosti locos didn't survive into preservation. Its a great model & accurate, but I think that like the Garrett, its just really ugly. Certainly wouldn't want to buy it then go off it at a later stage...
