Re: Miniature Wunderland - Hamburg

I assume he'll speed up the clock, that's the usual way if you follow a real timetable. Each to their own, I suppose, I don't like such constrictions when I'm playing with my toy trains and it also stops me talking to the people who visit exhibitions I am at and want to talk about my layout! They pa...

Re: Miniature Wunderland - Hamburg

What you have said contradicts what I know... However I am not prepared to argue with you, you go on believing what you believe and I'll do the same... In the meantime, as a railway modeller, I'll continue to enjoy it for what it is, a superb example of modelling. Which is all that matters really......

Re: Miniature Wunderland - Hamburg

"Miniature Wonderland" is a computer controlled automated toy train set on a large scale. Virtually all products are "out of the packet". You need to do your homework better I'm afraid. It's not a toy train, it's a Model Diorama that happens to have railways, together with ships...

Re: Signalling help please.

Ideally I'd like two starters on one post but I think this would be wrong? Unlikely but anything is possible. You could have a single post with a "T" section with a signal either end of the top of the T. Yes, two starter signals is the correct way, at the end of the platform, one on eithe...

Re: Hattie the Cat

Why can't they just leave cats alone, we've had them since I was a baby and I've never known one yet that if it gets itself up somewhere it will always get down again of its own accord. Surrounding it with police, firemen and the public will ensure it stays put as it will be frightened. What a waste...

Re: Japan's Railway History

Hi TD, just out of interest where did your statistics about the number of railway modellers come from? I'd like to see the other country's stats!

Re: Wanton Vandalism of layouts

The mother of one of the boys said 'He's already been punished, I've confiscated his phone and X Box and he's been grounded'. As if that makes it all ok. Of course it doesn't make it OK, but I find the general air of sanctimony here a little distasteful. Is everyone who's commented here a perfect p...

And me, especially as you've produced some cracking layouts so the skill level is there! Take the plunge, it doesn't cost much!

Re: Saxony Narrow Gauge Trip 2019

Day eight and a morning visit to the Kirkinztalbahn electric tramway, lovely little railway which runs up a valley on the side of the road, fine going up but not what some drivers expect to see coming towards them on the wrong side of the road! The locals seem fine but it catches the odd visitor out...

Re: Saxony Narrow Gauge Trip 2019

Day seven and a trip on the Radebuel Ost to Radeburg railway and an afternoon trip to the Dresden Transport museum so David could see some strange Fairlie! The Radebuel to Radeberg line as also a line of two halves, the first half up to Moritzburg (where there is a spectacular palace) was through th...

Re: Saxony Narrow Gauge Trip 2019

Day six and off to Dresden. The initial idea was to visit Geyer and Wilsdruff stations but we'd done both (everything locked away at Wilsdruff hence no photos). The first train from Frietal Hainsberg to Kurort Kipsdoft was at 0925 and it was a near 2 hour run from Johsdoft so we did a look at the ti...

Re: Saxony Narrow Gauge Trip 2019

Back to the trip, I had planned a trip on the Preznitztalbahn in the morning and the Fichtelbergbahn in the afternoon but have done that trip the night before we re-arranged things the night before. First a trip on the Fichtelbergbahn in the morning and then a visit to Geyer station to visit some pl...
