Re: The BNR (another way)

There may be another solution. Firstly, I have to emphasise that I have never seen these chassis in the metal, but if you study Hornby Service Sheets 250 (Toby) and 265 (Bill and Ben), you will see that the main chassis blocks (i.e. the only part not given a part number) are common to both. It there...

Re: Wrenn locomotive issue

The Ronald Dodd remagnetiser is an excellent piece of kit if you have a sufficient number of old locos to justify the purchase. If not, Ronald provides an alternative answer which seems to be Lysander's something in between. This is to use an undersized neo-magnet, and put packing pieces between the...

Have you considered H0 scale? These are nice. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kadee-No-522-36-Diameter-Smooth-Back-Code-110-Standard-Wheel-sets-HO-Scale/282727418784?hash=item41d3de0ba0:g:C9EAAOSwySlaBGik Point to point on the axle is about 25.75mm, diameter is about 10.4mm. If you need to go even smalle...

To me, this has the appearance of a graphite stick. I would be very happy to be corrected.

Many years ago, I saw an 00 layout using 1/32 Britains trees effectively. Would trees for 0 gauge be suitable? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SS220-4pcs-Model-Pine-Cedar-Trees-Deep-Green-For-O-G-Scale-Layout-22cm-New/111023854340?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 http://www.e...

Re: Track weathering

If you do have to solder a wire to the side of the rail, a spot of the rail muck colour you have used will make it very hard to spot. ...unless, like me, you have a movement disorder. Then it will look like a cupola wagon has spilled its load. :( What power rating is your soldering iron? Current th...

Re: Birmingham New Street and Brettell Road in P4

The industrial buildings which spread out either side of Brettell Lane between Silver End and Collis Street were a mish-mash of styles from the ornate (the entrance building to Harris and Pearson, which is still in tact), to the forboding (most of the others). That is why it works so well for the pe...

I know it's a da Vinci Mini and has the 3D equivalent of the Epson rationing chip, but finding out how to hack-it should make me delve into Near Field communication as the dongle with the chip is in the central non turning bit of the spool, it should be possible to hook up a connection to one of th...

I'm with rosenblad. I thoroughly enjoy your work.

Remember, the number of replies posted does not matter. Interest is demonstrated by the number of views as shown in the Workbench topic index, which, at the time of writing, is 3279. I would call that a lot of interest!

Best wishes. :)

Hello Tom@Crewe. I wish to ask an off-topic question. Could you please tell me the overall length and width of a completed kit that you use?
Thanking you in anticipation.

Re: The BNR (another way)

A number of 5-pole skew-wound double-shaft motors have recently become available on ebay which the BNR authorities may wish to add to their stores, if they are suitable or adaptable. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262361938230?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay...
