Re: Hawick via Grantham, Inverness and SIAM (00 gauge DC)

Looking forward to seeing this build on this project - no doubt with some excellent weathering!

Re: PeterH's Great Central themed layout.

I do like the tunnel and backdrop scenery and how the eye is drawn in - lots of photo opportunities there especially the one with the Deltic! I also like the distant signal - would that be a Ratio one?

Re: East Cheltwell

I started work on replacing some of the galvanized piping in the basement room where the layout is, and then discovered more leaks. Here is a section of the old pipe with a before and after - there seemed to be a lot of plumbing bodging by the previous home owner with a lot of putty around joints; u...

Re: East Cheltwell

Thanks for the kind words - I have a tendency to 90% complete kits and then not finish with the final details and start to run them around the layout - here they are on a mixed goods - apologies about the picture quality https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50967596153_afb3c937c0_c.jpg Still having f...

Re: East Cheltwell

The weather has been cold and icy so with a day off , it seemed like a good time to dig out some old Ratio Model kits I got of Ebay a few years back. These kits appeared to be quite old, but all the bits and instructions were there. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50951655401_8a3b6700d2_c.jpg Th...

That looks a great way of organizing and storing wagons; would there be something similar for coaches?

Great video! You have really captured the DCC sound well - It also looks a great layout to run full length trains. Hopefully we'll see more!

Re: East Cheltwell

Having fun with the new static grass applicator as well as accidently shocking myself in the process! Quite a kick! Here is a pic of the lane tidied up; I still need to add some highlights as it is a little too green and shiny, but it looks much more to scale. https://live.staticflickr.com/6...

Re: East Cheltwell

Thanks chaps! - I hoovered up the excess fibres where the landrover is, and it looks much more accurate and to scale. Before a 1/32nd vehicle would have fitted nicely! I am also realizing that there really should be a fence or some barrier from where the lane and cars are to the railway. If the lane...

Re: New / Old - Little Weldon

I used to have a Linka kit and enjoyed making structures, although I never seemed to make anything but ruins! The archways and doors were pretty fragile and always broke as I took them out of the mold  - The castle scene brings a great focal point; however, the painting of the bricks must be p...

Re: East Cheltwell

The new static grass applicator finally arrived this week. I had been using a Noch puffer bottle which dispensed the grass, but wasn't giving the desired 'grassy' look. The Woodlands Scenics applicator looked great, but I also wasn't sure I wanted to spend that amount; so, I came across this applica...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Our cat brought a mouse into the house, meowed and dropped it. The mouse scuttled into the basement where we thought it became our other cat’s dinner. After finding a nest of chewed up Xmas wrapping paper, we put out some good old fashioned mouse traps baited with peanut butter. Suffice to say, mous...
