Re: Round the room

Ahhh, good idea there mate. Might try that tonight 8) then ill have to find some scenic backgrounds of some sort to go either side as itll just be a tunnel in the middle of nowhere :D

Also looking at it, I might incline the road a little as I just realised the track sits halfway up the gate :D

Re: Round the room

I cant. The edge of the sleepers are only a mm or 2 away from the wall so im not sure if a tunnel would fit there :(

Re: Round the room

Cheers mate :) shhhhhh. They dont know it yet but they are going to neverland :D yeah the track is very close to the wall as it is so I can really only put half a level crossing there ;) In my defence it looks better than going straight over the track without anything there...tho i still have to put...

Re: Round the room

Haha, thanks :D yeah, its come together quite nicely. It started bothering me that 1 side had got a lot done to it and the other side was still bare boards...apart from track ballasting. So I locked myself away and did something about it lol :)

Re: Round the room

Re: br class r2879

well judging from the service sheet found Here it looks like the 2 wires at the front (opposite end to motor) are for the front pickups, theres 4 at the back - I would assume 2 for the pickups and 2 to the motor. Are you sure the wire is connected to a resistor and not a capacitor? (tiny round compo...

Re: Slow Action Point Motors

I use cobalt motors - love them. Got a couple from an old batch that was a bit troublesome but it was about 2 years agon now so you shouldnt have that problem. Have a look at my layout thread (in my sig) for pics. Here is a lil vid http://youtu.be/nLAfuvpElpwurl

Re: Out of stock

I use my local shop in Preston, they always have stuff in and will order stuff that they dont stock. They are more expensive than online, however, like you i dont mind for the convenience. I have also been to Hattons on a number of occasions and they are excellent. Always have enough stock in (i was...

Re: Round the room

Hi all - well a fair few more kadee no18s arrived yesterday so I managed to finish off the rest of my stock. Luckily They were all 18's that needed doing so it was fairly easy. I am very impressed with them now they are all on. Look much better than the TLs. I also decided to be creative and make a ...

Re: Round the room

 yeah, they are a bit, but touch wood, they have all been ok so far. For the rear of my n2, i had to pack a hole out with polystyrene and dremel off the old tl mounting part but thats been the worst so far. Just ordered a whole load more no18s so I can finish off the others. To be fair, once th...

Re: Lift up section

I think i read somewhere on here that you should raise the hinges slightly above board height so that when you lift it up, the edges of the rails where they are cut dont foul on each other/the baseboard. As you lift the section, the rails will move away slightly to provide clearance...bit hard to ex...
