Re: Scrap iron?

They're not all 18m long are they???

Some bits are as small as 10' long, quite easy for a small group of chavs to hoist onto the running line I think.

Re: Scrap iron?

The ECML is littered with old lengths of rail, both at the side of the track and left in the 4-foot. Whilst it may be 'uneconomical' to take it away, it also puts temptation in the way of the idiots who love to leave heavy objects across the line "just for a laugh". At least if debris like...

Re: Preserved Loco's with Fictitious Liveries

'50035 Ark Royal', i do wonder if you post for the sake of it sometimes. You make new threads very often and have already racked up near 400 posts in a month and a half. I'm only on 754 in the 3 years i've been signed up here.... Ditto. Already tried to gently advise that over-posting of numerous n...

Re: Points Problem

Either that or a slightly bent-out point blade meaning it comes too close to the inside of the passing wheel - got this problem on mine at the moment. Pair of small pliers should fix it

Thanks Chris

Would've been nice if the OP had actually bothered to put up an explanation of what the link was for, especially as most people won't click on unknown links and rightly so

Re: I think that a lot of stuff is overpriced...

Plenty of stuff I want/wanted that's not available new either. Anything is only worth what a buyer is prepared to pay for it - be it on an auction site or in a shop. I've lost out on stuff I was bidding on on eBay because someone was prepared to shell out more money, good luck to them!! On that basi...

Couldn't vote, couldn't find the option for "does it matter? if you don't want it, don't buy it and stop moaning"

Yes, many times, Hattons used to be a good one for this but not sure if they still do it as not bought a loco from them for a while. Tension-lock coupling is always a dead giveaway

Re: DCC Track Layout - Problems!!

Looks like a reverse loop being caused by the diagonal track. Needs to be isolated from the main track with IRJ and powered by a ARM What are IRJ and ARM? I was waiting for that  Best to dispense with the abbreviations I think  IRJs are Insulating Rail-Joiners - they are used instead of ...

Re: Prototype research

Best way I found was to search the internet for a decent book on the line you are tring to model. Very few pictures online for what I wanted to model either, but found a great book with plenty of photos and diagrams that explains a lot about the line
