Tank wrote:That quick!!! :D Is there any progress on them moving?

Also, can the list be adjusted so we know exactly where it is, and who is next? :?: Thanks!

Re: NRM N gauge 2 vans tour

By coincidence I was talking to someone the other day about this and wondered where the NRM n gauge vans had got to :) So if they are with Raider and/or cookiescrumble, according to the list in post number one (or has it been updated?) it's getting close to .. me!! I'll keep an eye on this thread fr...

Re: Derek's N gauge shelf layout

Hi Tim, good to see you're still around :)

This beachy section is more or less done, just needs a few people on the sand, maybe a couple of fishermen.

Next I'm on to laying the track, and the electrics ...

Re: Derek's N gauge shelf layout

Hi SouthernBoy . Reference the electronic shuttle movement, I haven't got that far yet :) Unfortunately progress has been slow. The above image of the bridge taken the day before yesterday doesn't have the track down. (1) I think on a larger layout an automatic part would be quite interesting, givin...

Re: Derek's N gauge shelf layout

margao, thanks.

The water effect is a navy paint base with several coats of very old varnish over it. The varnish is supposed to be clear (that's what it says on the tin), but it's about 30 years old and is now a yellowy colour. It gives the river/estuary a muddy effect.

Re: Derek's N gauge shelf layout

Thanks Chuffer Chuff.

And talking of the bridge, I've managed to make a bit of progress on the river/estuary:

Thanks santene.

The shops/houses are from Metcalfe kits, the station building is from a Ratio kit.

Dave, great start there.

Will the cutting get in the way of some of the sidings, though?

Oh dear, nearly six months later ... I've put together a few buildings, and just laid them on the shelf to get an idea of how things might go together: http://www.herb.me.uk/railway/shelf-8.JPG and the bridge over the river: http://www.herb.me.uk/railway/shelf-7.JPG

Derek's N gauge shelf layout

Well; as progress on my TT railway has stuttered to a premature halt (a specialist 3mm supplier has lost my order), I decided to make a start on my N gauge shelf layout. This layout is N guage, and is situated in my study. It is, as the name suggests, located on a shelf, about 9 feet (2.7 metres) lo...
