Re: Michael's N Gauge Layout
Right, some progress finally, after two years! :o I've built my baseboards, more or less. http://d.imagehost.org/0591/DSC00178.jpg http://d.imagehost.org/0784/DSC00179.jpg 10ft x 2ft total. Exactly 1m 12mm high, waist height for me. I'm going to add more bracing here and there, especially on the leg...

Re: Michael's N Gauge Layout
Heh, yeah. Well, when I first made this thread I was sharing my bedroom with my brother! Now, it's all mine, and I've realised how much space I've got for a layout. So hopefully I won't be changing my mind once I've got the baseboard built and in place! Well, if XtrkCAD is anywhere near accu...

Re: Michael's N Gauge Layout
So here's what I've come with to make use of the extra space available for me. http://d.imagehost.org/0372/terminalplanfinal.png Large picture with more detail. As you can, it's going to be fairly complicated. It's consists mainly of a 12 platform mainline terminus, based in the Northwest... Piccadi...

Someone call Railway Modeller! Their magazine is missing a layout...
Seriously, your layout is really at exhibition level in terms of... everything!

Re: Michael's N Gauge Layout
Pfft. Mine is better.
Mum says she'll help me rejig my bedroom, so I put the layout on the other wall, and get the extra space. So now I have 12ft by 2ft total. So I'm going to convert that plan to Streamline track, or Finescale, and see how it works.

Re: Michael's N Gauge Layout
I've decided to go for something a little grander. If I rejig my room, I can fit this in: http://d.imagehost.org/0326/lol4.png Which should last me longer and provide more entertainment than my previous plans. Modern and steam preserved ftw! Still got till payday to tweak it! Thoughts? Gonna be all ...

Re: Michael's N Gauge Layout
Blimey, this is a bit old! Never really managed to get this together. Lack of money and time being the main reason. However, as of November 2007, I managed to get a job at B&Q, and I've been working there ever since. So, with a healthy...ish wallet, I think it's time to dig out the untouched Gra...

Must be those teenage hormones, because I've changed my mind again and gone back to the original plan. If I wanted to make my railway in OO, I'd have to wait a long time for the loft to be boarded up, and then there is the practical obstructions of access, and also the possibility of us moving house...

Uh-oh. I'm having second thoughts about N Gauge. Well, I don't think there is anything wrong with N gauge. It's a good scale to work with. I just think... it needs a few more years of available kit. I'm also having doubts about the size of my plans. I also think, that with the support that OO has, a...
