Time to sell Bath Queen Square, but how or where?

It has come to that time in life when I shall, unfortunately, have to dispose of Bath Queen Square. But I'm not sure the best way or where to go to do it. Should I sell piecemeal or, as a whole and to whom. Has anyone ever had to do the same? Any advice or information would be most welcome. It is a ...

photobucket

For one reason and another I haven't been able to visit NRM for a while untiltoday and on checking my layout thread 'Bath Queen Square' I now see that photobucket have decided to print a label across all the photos. I've logged into my account with them and all the photos are there. Can I do anythin...

Re: solder problem

Many thanks for all the replies. I have left gaps where fishplates are used which take up the expansion, it just seems that the solder joint wants to part for some reason. Taking the advice, I will now fit some bridging wire at these joints which will solve the problem. Cheers to all and happy model...

solder problem

Hi all, When Bath Queen Square was relocated during a house move the track ends were soldered where the boards were rejoined. During the recent very hot weather,(and nearly every time there is a heatwave) track expansion and contraction, although minimal, has resulted in a number of solder joints br...

Miniature Wunderland - Hamburg

During a recent cruise there was a stopover in Hamburg for the day and I convinced my better half, my sister-in-law and brother-in -law that a visit to the Wunderland would be well worth the effort. And it was, apart from there not being any reference to the railways of the UK in any of the modellin...

Ah yes,
and then of course there is the airbrush.
Found it the other day, trouble is with my memory I didn't even know I owned one! Great buy at the time, never used.

Re: Bath Queen Square - something stirring again !

Well it's been quite a while since I ventured back into the world of model railways due to our cave being renovated. New kitchen extention, new kitchen, bedrooms, lounge, garden modified, her own 'playroom', all done. The layout has been re-built for some time but haven't been able to 'play' that mu...

Re: The story of PETERSDALE my OO gauge Branch Line layout

Hi RR, thanks for the comments re Bath Queen Square but having viewed your branch layout I can see I've got a fair bit to do on the scenic side of mine! Yours looks like and has the feel of a branch line and station.

Cheers

Re: Bath Queen Square - something stirring again !

Some time ago the layout was dismantled and all was put on hold while we moved house. Well, things are starting to come together again and in the next few months? Bath Queen Square will be resurrected. The new location (garage)has been cleaned, painted and carpeted ready for it. All I've got do now ...

Re: Calling ballast experts! Ballast advice needed!

A quick solution would be to press 'bluetack' into the joints. It's waterproof and won't stick the boards together. You won't know it's there once you've ballasted.

Re: Making a lighthouse

Found out whilst taking the grandkids to Escot (Devon) last year that a 'bodger' is in fact a skilled person from olden days who remained working the woods and forests when the industrial revolution took place. To be called a bodger now is a derogatory term for someones abilities, but not back then ...

Re: Making a lighthouse

Many thanks for the responses.
Went to Poundland yesterday and bought the bike front LED light .....erm for a £1. A bit of disassembly and wires lengthened and it all looks and works fine as a flashing lighthouse, if just a little fast.

Making a lighthouse

Not sure if this is the right section but it seems electrical to me ! My granddaughter (aged 7) is having to make a working light house for a school project. The lighthouse is being made out of a 2 litre Coke bottle so plenty of space inside. What do I need to produce a battery operated flashing lig...

Bath Queen Square - well that's it for a while !

Moving house in the next month or two so Bath Queen Square is under deconstruction and will be off limits for quite a while. The new house needs considerable redecoration which will have to take preference. In between doing the rooms I'm hoping to slowly put things back together again. The up side t...
