newbie to dcc
DCC newbie so bear with me... I wanted to get into DCC, so have bought a hornby e-link and railmaster, installed on a laptop OK and the software can see the e-link fine. Set up a long section of straight track as a test, have a Bachmann 57xx DCC ready and have swapped out the blank chip for a hatton...

Re: Help! HM200+ Controller - Controlled Circuit....
Mine has been working fine for about 6 years. Maybe Hornby are using cheaper components in newer models of this item since they still have it for sale.

Re: Railroad; false economy?
Given the running quality of their Railroad steam models (the larger ones) such as flying scotsman, I'm happy to sacrifice detail that I will probably end up breaking or not seeing whilst the trains are running. The diesels really need updating to all wheel pickup though I believe.

Re: Just aquired my first Bachmann loco
The steam models that came out between 2000 and 2007 really do have to be carefully adjusted to avoid a rod screw up. Likewise, I've had to do the same with most of mine with outside valve gear. But with Bachmann locos always make sure you give them plenty of running-in, with gradual increase in spe...

Just aquired my first Bachmann loco
...and was very impressed with the detail and running.
It's a GWR Pannier. It's not been run in yet, but I gave it a little test and was surprised with how well such a small loco coped with Hornby standard points.

Re: Night Mail Carriage (with accessories) query
It's available in the railroad range from Hornby for £19.99
Not sure if it comes with all the other bits though like the bag and holder though, the site doesn't say...

You could always email Hornby and ask them.

Re: REVIEW- Hornby Railroad County
I've got an older version of this before it was part of the railroad range. Mine is County of Caernarfon.
Now that one does have the lining of the back of the tender and the brass lining around the window.

Re: Whats on your Layout? Locos, Rolling stock etc
Very poor layout here: Locos: Class 47 Lima - not working atm Class 52 old hornby - not working atm County class steam loco - working. 4 I think 0-4-0 locos that stall all the time. Carriages: 4 pullmans from a set. 4 Maroon Mk1's split from a Harry Potter set. 2 old triang coaches that wobble (plas...
