Re: Cricut Makers

Silhouette is an alternative to Cricut. I bought one last summer, and for the time being, used it only to make this H0 scale building : https://www.instagram.com/p/ClO-h2tDAsT ... _copy_link.

I plan to use it for a N scale layout, so I will see if it's good for both scales...

Re: Saint-Drop

Hello everybody, I just received this morning my first locomotive and rolling stock. First, a Hornby TTS Class 37 Colas Rail. PXL_20230102_153803521.jpg This locomotive will be in charge of the freight between Saint-Hilaire and Saint-Drop, as some of my french locomotives. I have thought that Colas ...

Re: Saint-Drop

Thanks Jim. It's always amazing to see foreigner who model our french railway ! Especially for me, who is interested by other railways than french one. He has (have) a very nice collection of french locomotive & rolling stock in N scale ! But if I'm here, it's because I seek for inspiration and ...

Re: Saint-Drop

Thanks Geoff. Yes, I love to build. Sometimes I use some kits, but I often scratchbuild almost everything. For the buildings, I prefer scratchbuild than a kit that is, pardon my french ;), a pain in the ass to assemble. About Saint-Hilaire, I have regrets on this subject... About Metcalfe buildings,...

Google Maps says 368 km
I live in Auvergne, more precisely in Puy-de-Dôme. Right in the middle of France.

Re: Hello from a frenchman in France

Welcome aboard gibeth, Where may one expect to find a Frenchman, but mostly in France. Your English is enough to put most of us to shame. The British are awful at learning languages, you put us to shame. Thanks. To be honest, I write better in english than I speak. My accent is more french than my ...

Re: Hello from a frenchman in France

Thanks for the welcome ! Hello! Are you tempted to go Hornby TT:120 for your British outline layout or OO? Oh yes, I'm tempted by the Hornby TT but not for the project I mentionned, which is an extension of my actual (and french) layout, as I explain here : https://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Foru...

Saint-Drop

How to start ? I'm not sure, because this project isn't, I suppose, a very typical one ;-) I already have a french layout in H0 scale, named Saint-Hilaire-La-Mine. I described step by step how I built it in 21 days in a special issue of the french magazine Loco-Revue (if some of you read in french a...

Hello from a frenchman in France

Hello everybody, My name is Jean-Baptiste, I'm 42, and nobody is perfect : I'm a Frenchman from France ;-) (so apologize my english, even if I will do my best) I'm here because I plan to build a british layout (in fact my project is not really classical, but more details in a future forum post), and...
