Given how many times it's been relisted I'm going with 'not a bargain'

Re: Connoissuer models

The O gauge kits go together very well and Jim's instructions are some of the best there are.
The OO ones may be a bit trickier, they're scaled down O gauge etches which tend not to work as well as those designed as OO.
That said I'll be getting something from the next batch and having a crack at it.

Thanks, but clean?

You should have seen how long I spent scrubbing solder off the tanks tops last night :)

Looking like this now. Remaining bits up to 15 are mostly the backhead.

Re: Scorpio GWR 850 Pannier Tank

As supplied, the cab has the handrail holes too high up. New holes need making. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-vpiXbHPIsng/VBRg7JBg5SI/AAAAAAAAqPI/igM-ag1O824/s800/IMG_0636.JPG And the old ones filling https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-yvxzPc-Gez0/VBRg7OvV1NI/AAAAAAAAqPI/GRsT14N5UQQ/s800/IMG_06...

There was a whole batch of Class 31s where the chassis expanded and split the bodyshell...

Re: Mallard Partwork

Seems I was wrong about the chassis. Now I've actually opened the issues it turns out the frames are laminated and you'll need at least two unspecified future issues. Also horn blocks. Who knew. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-YYkG8XNjWZs/VE6fsNT5EwI/AAAAAAAAq6Y/VROemUjy0fk/s640/IMG_20141027_1935...

Re: Mallard Partwork

Thanks. Good Point but there does seem a lot more 'junk' under and behind the wheels on this one. That's not the kit the partwork kit is based on.... That's the Piercy kit and has a lot more detail than the old DJH kit with the one piece cast boiler & cab. This one. http://www.partworkmodels.co...

Re: Mallard Partwork

This is the arrangement on the Hachette/DJH A1. This kit will probably be the same.
I doubt you need (or can get) any more room than that :)
