How to get a product on model railway stores.
I dunno if this is the right forum section but here it goes because I dunno where to put it. I have started making model railway products, mostly scenic details, and I was wondering how to get model railway stores to stock without having to visit in person, as this is not viable for me. I was wonder...

Model railway inside Campervan: Opinions and ideas
I saw a video about a guy who lives in a converted van full time and still does gaming as his hobby. And while someone who has no interest in doing this, I was thinking how would a space eating hobby such as model railways be achieved in a van, I was thinking of a drop down layout which lifts up to ...

Re: Indian Railway Models
The problem with Indian Railways is that there mostly broadgauge, so producing convincing HO models is very difficult, I don't know about Indian Metre gauge though.

Re: Thinking about OO garden railway.
If your doing 00 I would recommend sticking to indoors becuase maintenance is gonna be made alot more difficult outdoors in 00. And it's very much susceptible to poor weather.

HM2000 on Ringfield motors
I'm considering buying my friend a Hornby HM2000 Because he uses 2 Hornby Silver controllers for his layout, he has alot of Ringfield motor models and And vintage models from the 60s/70s. Can he use the HM2000 on these old beauty's or will it ruin them. Also I'm worried about current it puts out dur...

Re: DMU lights on Analogue control
Powering a train with PWM sufficiently to put on lights and make the motor rattle is a No-No. It's akin to leaving a DC loco on energised DCC track. There if there's not enough voltage to make the motor turn, it's not going to generate a back EMF. This means Ohm's Law applies using the supplied vol...

Re: 8x4 Layout with shunting potential
An 8x4 board needs a space of 8x10 or thereabouts, in order to access both long sides and one end. Otherwise you'll have areas of the layout out of reach. If you have 8x10 available, you can build something much better than an 8x4 table. Just about anything is better! I'd go for an end-to-end L-sha...

Re: DMU lights on Analogue control
There are a couple of answers to this, but basically if there is not enough current flowing to move the motor then there is nothing to worry about, you are not going to damage the motor. If he just has the 153 it will not be a big spend to buy an inexpensive DCC system (Bachmann E-Z Command can oft...

8x4 Layout with shunting potential
After a change of plans i am moving my layout from the garage to the Bedroom which means no more 6x6 metal board :D I now have space for an 8x4, it's not a whole lot better but it's the space available. I have been looking at 8x4 Layouts but most trackplans focus on the running lines and while I wan...

DMU lights on Analogue control
My friend has a DC layout and just bought a Class 153 by Hornby, he wants to keep the lights on while the train is stopped at a station, but in DC obviously is quite difficult, my friend applies just enough power to the track the keep the lights on but not move the motor this works well but he is wo...
