Re: Putting your trains to bed at night

Most of my locos are in a glass cabinet until I decide to swap them for what is currently on the layout. What's on the track stays on the track until it is replaced by something else. The trucks, carriages, etc., are either on the track or on a shelf underneath the layout. Dust is a bit of a pain b...

Re: Putting your trains to bed at night

Where does everything go when you've done for the day? Do you leave it all out? What about the locos? Throw a dustsheet over it all? Use a dozen of those lacy cake umbrellas (or one massive one)? Methodically pack the trains back into their lovely packaging boxes ready for the next outing? Would be...

Re: I've reached Minimum Viable Product status

I've finally got everything together, fitted a decoder, fixed the loco I accidentally broke, fully digested the entire 68 page NCE PowerCab manual (okay, the 2 page quick start guide), plugged everything in without electrocuting myself and have been immensely rewarded by my new Class 42 going round...

Re: Leopard Street, LNER 1930's

Re: All change - a small OO roundy

Nicely done, and having spend three hours sitting on the cellar floor with whatever I lean back on moving away I feel your pain. at least Leopard street is 3' off the floor so not too much head banging. in theory mine is dismantlable for such work, works on the 3' long boards. like a berk I forget t...

Re: Help needed to program the stack, Lenz LH100

don't currently have it, garage roof fell in (long story) but I used to run the Lenz system with the LH100. have to say while it was technically very capable it wasn't exactly user friendly to operate. I think the LH100 handset is meant more as a programming interface that can also drive trains with...

Re: Straight to the point.

was a tellyprog a couple of years back here. part of it showed some kids on a station platform canopy, the entire focus was "how dare Network Rail permit such a thing through not stopping it!". not one jot of "blame" being allocated to the teenagers who had climbed a security fen...

Re: Leopard Street, LNER 1930's

Board F now wired up and running, still has some bus wires to add (it links to one side but not the other to complete the rings), this is something that needs doing but doesn't need doing "right now" if that makes sense. have to do it to power up more servos but to run on the main track it...

Re: East Leake and Rothley station.

Hello everyone. Long time no update. Latest is that I have been buying and building things for the model railway. I have built from scratch East Leake signal box and I also have bought one of the accurascale class 37 in br blue. Some may or may not agree with me but it is one of the best models tha...

Re: Leopard Street, LNER 1930's

bit more progress, was expecting to be gaming tonight but due to a slight technical misunderstanding that didn't happen so down in the cellar, board F is nearly wired up, only two more feed wires to hook up and ready for power on testing, should be done tomorrow night with a start on board G to foll...

Re: Leopard Street, LNER 1930's

I wish I could keep up !! I know I should have bought a Q6 when they were somewhat under £100. Geoff T. got it from TMC second hand, sub £100 delivered. didn't get the accessory pack though so no brake rigging etc hopefully will have her chugging around at a steady speed as a 'scenic train', one of...
